The first one was happening for a while and went away for months now its back. The light for the gas gage is acting weird because it's not out, it's just really dim. Like I said it was acting this way before, fixed itself for months and now it's acting up again. I went to a dealer when this first happened and they said it would be $120 to repair it because it takes forever to take it apart and they change all of the dash lights anyway.

The second is when I got my car back from the dealer to confirm that the engine was screwed up (thats what they told me :bs: :bs: :bs: ) the lights for my window switches will not go off. When the ignition is turned those lights are always on. Not really as big of a deal as the gas light.

Anyone have any suggestions about either besides going to the dealer. I honestly have no idea how simple or difficult the fix would be if I did it myself. Thanks.

Takes forever to take apart? Are they joking? It doesn't get any more straight forward. Pull the trim off both sides, unbolt the black panel, tilt your steering all the way down and pull it out. Undo the bolts holding the cluster on, unplug the wire looms (2, IIRC) pull it out, flip it over, and un-twist the bulbs. It's easy, 15 minutes tops.

I had a feeling it was that simple. Know anything about the window switches?

Not from me, but those tiny LEDs aren't going to hurt anything. It may be annoying, but the LCM should be telling them to turn off after 10 minutes. The LCM turns off any on-demand power after 30.

I believe, that some LEDS are wired in such a way that they will always be on. They only pull like .02 amps.

On mine, when the ignition is on, the Window Switch Lights are also on. This is the way it was designed. They don't come on with the headlights, but with the ignition.

Most people complain that the window switch lights are not all on, but I've never heard of the complaint that they are on all the time. They are so dim that it is easy to miss the fact that they are on in the daytime.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I could have sworn those lights would not come on unless the headlights were on. Can a few of you check your cars?

If you lock the windows then the other 3 switches go dark.

Yea that still works, but do all the lights go on when the ignition is turned on? Like I said I thought they only went on with the headlights.
