ugh.. i bought my 03 at the beginning of this year with roughly 50k miles and currently, it's at about 60k. now, i don't clearly recall, but out of the 3 Marauders i test drove before buying this one, i vaguely remember mine shifting better (harder) than the other two.

anyways, a few weeks ago, i started feeling my tranny shake/shudder after it would shift into 2nd and 3rd. it would shift into the gear just fine, but afterwards, it would shudder a little. it wasn't often that it did, but i didn't want the problem getting worse. so, i took my car into Covert Ford's service station and found out the torque converter was going out and that the trans had metal flakes in it.

now, the good thing about all this, is that i got the tranny rebuilt, AC blower replaced, and some front suspension work done (paid $140 instead of $1,800) all under the service warranty. :D the bad part, is that the tranny feels completely different now.. where as before, when it shifted, i could really feel it because it jerked me slightly. now? well, now, i can barely even feel it shift. it went from feeling great, to just meh. :alone:

and the sad part is, i don't even know what's been done to my car. i don't even know what KIND of tranny is in the thing! i just bought it and drove it! can anyone enlighten me on what's in the thing? :depress: is there a possibility that they could have rebuilt it with the wrong parts?

so yea, i've called and spoken with the service manager, and he's telling me to just bring it in and we can take a look at it. but i don't even know what i could possibly say to have anything really get done without wasting my time. i don't know if there was a shift kit on it or what?

i kinda feel like **** outta luck. any sort of input is greatly appreciated guys!!! :)

Your car may have had an aftermarket tune that revised the trans shift points...it's possible that the dealer reflashed a stock tune to the computer. If thats the case then an SCT or equal aftermarket tuner with a custom tune is what you need.

I bought mine used also, it took me about three months to figure out most of the mods done by the previous owner...

What Sam said. Also can you tell if it shifts sooner than before? The tuners usually delay the shift points so it will rev a little higher in each gear under light to moderate throttle.

you can adjust shift pressure with the tuner also.......

shift points are the same, but i'm guessing the shifting pressure was adjusted then? i'm also gathering that my trans is fine, it's just bare stock now?

so, i just need to invest a little money in a tuner! i was getting a little worried there! whew! :O

can anyone give me a few links to some tuners and shift kits?
