Ok,
I wanna, no need to, get a set of rear tires for some odd reason:confused:

My plan is to put a new set on for MVIV use 'em up pretty good and send two of my wheels out for widenening after I park the car for the winter "adjustments".
Then of course I'll run some other rubber.
Now, what tires might be stickiest, for the least amount of cash , that will hold up for about 4k miles on the OD ( up and back drive of aprox 2400 miles and Gainseville with some mile in between)?

Stock tires from Costco. A good value.

Yeah I think so... gotta recheck.
I was looking at Avons, and a few others.
Are the KDW2's soft when they heat up?

The KDW2's are not quite stock size but work fine. Very sticky, and will last plenty.

The Nexen N3000 has the same size, may not be as sticky but seems to get good ratings for a cheap tire. They're like $110 each for the rears I think...

Check this link I got some older prices and links at the top to sellers: http://www.neuralimpulse.com/maraudertires.html

I've been using that link. Thank you very much for your work on that!

I'm looking at the 255/55/18's instead of stock.
I saw that Yokohama makes stock sizes front and rear in one model( at least that's what I recall, left my notes at work.)

Rich, you're not going to get it all in one tire. Pick your chief concern? Sticky, or, inexpensive.

The stickiest street tire I have ever seen, is the Pirelli line. Like glue when hot, and not cheap.

Want something for a smoke show? Buy the cheapest you can find.

Pirellis are sick with it. I haven't decided if I wanna chance the Nittos and the rubbing thing, if I don't chance it pirelli is gettin ma money

Maybe some cheaper units and a gallon of VHT for the track?

The only discussion of rubbing, which only some poeple have, seems to be relating only to the Nittor Drag radials which are 305's.

If you want streets I have heard NO issues with the 295's Nitto street tires on widened wheels.

As for that page I linked sometime I'll have to go back in and see if any new products are out and update the prices. :)

For an all around tire without widening though, I think the KDW2 is one of the top choices. The Pirellis also look like a great choice, they are more expensive than the BFG's but sounds like those with them are very happy as well.

For a short life smoke 'em up tires, I would be curious how the Nexens ride and perform, they are about the cheapest ones on the list I believe.

They are labeled as street/sport truck tires, but I dont care.
My average life of a typical set of rears is less than 1000 miles, unless I am on a long trip.

They are speed rated to 169mph and are designed for heavy vehicles.
At $102 a pop, it was worth a shot to try them out.
Ill get em mounted and balanced in time for Seymour, provided my car turns out ok.

Zack what do you do that you can't get 1,000 miles on a set of tires? Burnouts, racing, etc? Certainly not just around town driving!

BFG KDW 2's NT ( New Tread) pattern are awsome, i got them for 135 each at costco I *beleive* not 100% sure. I cant say enough good things about them. Great Traction, wet and dry. much better tread wear than the OEM's. Awsome looks.

Depends on whether he drives year round or not. Sig says he's in PA, and the KDW 2's are worth ZERO SQUAT ZILCH in the snow :D
