I finaly have enough cash to do my first real performance mod to the MM. I want to do either the front and rear Addco sway bars or the PHP control arms. Which do you all think I should do first? I am thinking the sway bars because the rear end feels a bit loose in turns. I am also looking for advice on the install. I would like to have the upgrade installed before the trip to FL next month. I am also still taking any real ideas for replacing that hood ornament. I think I have the only MM with a hood ornament so at least you will know its me :)

The Addco Sway Bars are ~$350.00 for front and rear.
Control Arms are ~$450.00.
Having both control arms and sway bars, the car handles like a dream.
I did the 'sways' first, followed by the control arms. Either way, you will not be disappointed.
Mike.

Dennis Reinhart has the PHP Control Arms on Sale for Sept for $300....... I THINK!!!!!!
Drop him an email.....may still be able to get in on the deal if they were for that price.

PS - Gears are a nice mod too ;)

I'd do the sway bars first.
Then the 4.10 gears.
Then the control arms.
Are you going to be able to make it the MMIV? If so you can drive mine with all of the above mods.....
BTW... there is an all Ford car & truck show in Wilmington on 10/21. I plan on being there. You can drive it there too..... see: http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/sencmc/index_013.htm for deatils.

Control arms vs. sway bars, which to install first?
IMHO, doesn't really matter, you will feel a gratifying improvement after either mod.
Just make sure to grease the poly-something bushing on both, or they will squeek.

I've had my front & rear Addco's installed for almost a year, never greased them, never had any squeaks. Just checked the bushings all is well. The Metco upper & lower rears I've had installed for over a year and only greased them 2 times after the initial install.

All the info for you Steve is great--but what I want to know--Did you ever get up with fastblackmerc in Cary-?--and Are/ will you be coming down with those from your area with MM's for the MVIV ride ?---cause you have been silent--my friend---can't wait to meet another Carolina Marauder member!!
Oh--BTW--My suggestion is to do Gears(410) , lower stat(180), chip(your choice- but prefer SCT)- cooler plugs----Do that --called Stage 1 and you will be forever going for more --one at a time ..........Tom

Yes the wife and I will be attending in FL. The car show sounds great. I will need to talk with the wife, but it should be no problem at all. I will also be sending you a PM.

I have not been in touch with fastblackmerc, but that is being worked on :) I will be going to MVIV, but the wife and I will be heading out a few days early. I have a friend in Lake City, FL that I need to visit. I also plan on dropping in to see Mr. Reinhart since he is only a few miles from there. Yea I am rather quiet til I get a few beers down. Then you will wonder when I am going to shut up  . I am looking forward to meeting my fellow car geeks.
...and Thank you all for the input. I will be calling Mr. Reinhart monday to get the sway bars.
