Ok, I'm nutz, but don't the Marauder windshield wipers "park", after being switched to off?
The 2002 Panther, in the other stall does?

Yes, they should park unless your wiper motor in on it's way out.

thanks, I'm on the phone with the dealer now.
Second time they told me this is "normal"

What do you mean by "park"? Ever since I got mine with 5600 when I turn them off they stop back at the "bottom" where they always sit, but never below the edge of the hood or anything like that (I do wish they sat a little lower when not in use, but haven't tried to adjust them down further).

Any comparison pics between what yours does and what the other Panther car is doing?

+1 early on (about 4 years ago) we wished they'd "park" like a Town Car wipers do...they don't...and if you try to change this you can't because the fittings on the arms/blades will not allow them to "park" lower and then give a proper "sweep".

Ok, I admit ,I thought they retracted to a slightly lower point than during the regular wipe cycle.
I had mine adjusted by my pal at Woodstock Ford Mercury.
The passenger side blade, was up a couple inches higher than the drivers side.
I forgot to turn the car off during the wipe cycle to get better acess at unlocking the arm from the splined stem.

The wipers will rest on the black plastic cowl ever so slightly when turned off.

THis is how they sit, though the cowl is slightly different
for 2003+, the wiper system itself is practically identical to any 92+ CV/GM.

I too wish they sat an inch or so lower, thus being covered by the hood.

First, your engine bay is cleaner than the plates I eat out of and I am somewhat picky about such things.

Second, the wipers on a MM do not lower extra when not in use. The wipers on the 1995 CVPI that I bought from Royal PITA tuck under the hood when not in use. I think that it is a nice feature that should have been kept but oh well.

I think Ford had lots of problems with the "park" feature as I see a lot of older Town Cars, CV's and GM's with wipers "parked" in the up position!!:mad2:

I never had this happen on any of my CV's but it seems to be a common fault!!

They do not park. They stop at the lower position but do not go to a "park" position like a lot of earlier models do.

Thank you very much! I work very heard to keep her spotless :)

I was unaware of the MMs (or all 2003+??) not parking lower. In the FSM 2003 MM volume it says the wipers perform "Parking Operations", and like all wiper systems, have park sensors, hence why I believed it had this. I have only driven 2 Marauders in the rain, never paid much attention to the wipers :P
