I'm asking, because me and a buddy of mine are flying into Chicago on Saturday morning, and we're going to Byron dragway to watch thge races that day, and especially for the follwing day to see the car wheelie contest that Bron has every year at this time.

I might try to rent one of those new rental GT's that ford has in the Avis car rental places at the airport. I was just told by a Ford dealer, that you're required to show them your airline ticket stub in order to rent one of those. BTW, exactly which model is that? Anyone know? I'm not really a Mustang guy, although I DO like the new Shelby GT 500. But I know that it isn't the GT500 that the rental places have.

Well now this really STINKS....I can forget about the Avis rental place in the Midway airport. Not only don't they have any hi-perf cars available, they don't have ANY cars available for this Saturday. :mad2:

I know that I shouldn't have waited until the last minute, but this whole trip was planned at the last minute. And we were gonna drive my Marauder down there, but a couple days ago we decided to fly. :depress: EDIT: well I found a car rental place. But since nobody has replied to this by now, I guess that nobody on here in the Illinois area is planning on going to this event.

Oh, Sunday too!I suspect that it will be pretty much over with by 6 pm on Saturday, but the main event ( which is the wheelstander championships ) doesn't start until 3:00 pm on Sunday. The races are held on Saturday, and on Sunday morning.
