Marauder Blue-Hair Special

Don't really want to bring it up, but I almost brought up my lunch yesterday after picking my car up from its transmission rebuild. Went down to the show room and was looking for a blue or silver Marauder. Found one of those "Special" Marauders with the half landau roof, chrome wheel well inserts and side carriage lamp. A previous thread by JerseyVics (search for Tommy's Ragtop) showed pictures of one similar. Only difference with this one was the badge on the rear pillar behind the rear side windows. The JerseyVics picture showed a Godshead similar to the one in the wheel center of the Marauder. This was a strange looking Roman or Greek dude facing right with the words "Mercury Grand Marquis Signature Edition" around him. There was no pricing for the "upgrade" with total cost of the car a little more than $28,000. So there is more than one out there. Anymore around?

BigDog can back me up by going to Reedman showroom. He knows where it is.

Wait a minute...this was definitely a Marauder, but the badge said "Grand Marquis Signature Edition"???????

Was the MSRP 28K, or was the actual selling price 28K? Marauder's MSRP is 35K, so an MSRP of 28K wouldn't be a Marauder.

yeah - Marauder it was, 5-spoke chrome wheels and bumper said MARAUDER. It was a 300A. Guess they couldn't grab a 300B to play with.

Here we go again...

BTW, was at my NEW SM for my front running lenses, and while she was in, I of course browsed the lot, staying away from the older (err... should I say wiser?) crowd in the waiting room. I stumble upon a 2002 CV-sport WITH full roof, chrome wheel-well things, and b-pillar chrome. I sat in her, just to see how she felt. Nothing impressive, kinda made me felt like I was in a lower class Marauder really. The motor looked depressing, like it didn't even belong there! Then again, I wonder where the exhaust note is when I ride in my Mom's GM. ANYWAY, to the point, there was the most peculiar badge on the c-pillar. An old time FORD crest! Where in the hell are they getting these emblems from?!?! :confused:
