Ok,
I have a pair of OEM rims, I intended to have widdened.
Due to runout and a small crack in one of the wheels, they still sit.
I have been thinking about, what(constructivly) I can do with them.
One idea I had, since they can not be widdened.
Can they or others(not damaged) be narrowed?
What size should they be altered to?

Yes they can be narrowed Bradley. 18"X3" would be a good size. I've already seen them on a Marauder.
BTW you have an e-mail.

Just a wild guess....Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R size 26 X 6 X 18 on a 5" narrowed Marauder wheel. Just a guess though.......ha ha

Out of round is out of round. A crack is a crack.
If one is out of round, and the other has a crack, neither should be used in competition racing, where trap speeds are high. No need to lose control in the traps.
However, as salvage items, they continue to hold their value. As long as they hold air, they can be used (for short periods of time) as polished spares. 75-100 bucks each is fair, IMHO.
I may be interested in one as a polished full size spare, if it holds air, and for the right price. I have the mini-spare in the trunk now, and I'd like to improve that. Drop me a line at SergntMac@aol.com, if you're interested, Bradley.

There even once was a local guy here in town that did this narrowing/widening. We talked of doing this to a set to match the rear m/t bias plys and alleviate the wobble on the track.
Can do easy.
I however wouldn't do it to damaged wheels.:nono:
Be safe Brad, use 'em for spares.

This may be a stupid question but here goes. Can a wheel slightly bent or out of round be widend? and if so I'd like to go 10 inches because I have the QA1s and should have room for the extra 1/2 inch.

I was hopeing the crack was in the portion that is removed during the surgery.
I would never use the wheels for racing, unless they are safe.
As far as spares go, that may be the only thing they are suited for.
Another idea I had, If they can not be used safely as spares either;
Glass table base or stool base.
