I have come up w/ a cover that goes in our trunks. I have removed the spare tire and installed some stereo items up in it's place.
This posed a problem for me. Now every time I open the trunk, everyone and their brother can see that I have something up there. That just didn't fly with me. So...I came up with this:

And a close up:

During the Oktoberfest Meet, several folks encouraged me to push forward to see if anyone would be interested in one of these.
What do you think?

What do I think?

How long did it take to make one?

I think that is awesome and would love to have one for once the car is no longer a daily driver and the spare could be removed for some stereo stuff. What about one with a slightly smaller God's Head, moved up slightly so that it could work with the trunk organizer that a number of us have?

Two models would not be that much harder I guess. I would just need to get ahold of an organizer to make things work.

Nice work, Killjoy. I did something similar to hide my stereo. I also built a false floor to put the donut spare. I'll put up some pics of mine shortly.

I'm likin' it. The factory organizer edge (lip) is roughly 1/2" in height & 3/4" in depth across the back there. So you'd need to do a little cutout to get across that lip.

I looked this over in Seymour, and it's very high quality and solid. I like it very much, but I can't use it in my application right now.
As y'all see it in Steve's pics, it will not work with a trunk organizer (dude why didn't we try this?) but if it can be made in a shortened version, the trunk organizer can remain, as long as the lids clear the godshead as well.
Steve, refresh me on how it's made and of what material again? Foam on plywood?

Looks great! So, you have the spare tire removed? I'd be interested in one if it could fit over the spare tire.

As it is night now, it WILL NOT fit w/ a spare tire.
Perhaps a notch out???

Kiljoy, Darn nice! I have missed out on most of these ingeniously made Marauder items and would definitely buy 2, because the wife says the spare stays. So after I wreck the first one figuring out the best way to do that, I can properly modify the 2nd one to work/look nice.

That's pretty cool good job on it. I'm interested in one and I don't keep my spare in anyways.

Could it be notched out for a full spare and organizer? And does this effect the stereo sound any?

That was my thought w/ the notch. My subs fire forward, so there is no real issue for me. And....it does not seal the area air-tight.

I would be interested if it can accomodate the donut.
Can't send the wife out without a spare!
Looks Good!

I had really not added up the total costs yet. I was not sure if there would be ANY interest at all.
I will see what I can get figured out.

I saw it and liked it as well.
You folks put Stevo in bussiness and we got us new vendor...of sorts.:P
I am thinking this Stevo creation is geared toward those who do not carry the spare and need to hide something. Amps, nitrous, and such.
BTW: Steve, where is your spare?
I haven't carried one in....uhh...like never.:D

This thing looks great I want one, how about price keep it resonable. I would move my spare because the flush look like the picture is what I want. No changes for me.:D
Whats the pinion angle after installing this?
Reme says "THAT'S HOT!!!! Could not have done better myself."

Strike a line across it at the same level as the sides and center from there.
I've done that kind of work. Takes a bloody long time!

Steve,
May I suggest:
If you are going to produce 'trunk panels' to also template and make a false floor available like sully's. It could be split in the middle.
I have started a hundred time to make a false floor, but always too dam lazy to make the template.
The plate looks real good. I always had hand cut my foam. Guess CNC help alot!
Go to it and make a few bucks!
All the best.

VERY Nice Killjoy. You really did a great job on that. True custom work!
I also think it is extremely nice of you to share your skills with others.

Okey Dokey Folkeys.....
It does appear that there is SOME interest in these. I have been speaking with several other Members regarding the manufacturing process. For several reason's I will not be offering these for sale at this time. First, I do not feel that I can get these made at a reasonable enough price for most. And Secondly, there are too many variations of trunk configurations to make it widly usable.
I may end up making a one or two in my spare time, and offer them up for sale, but at this time, I will not be offering this item on an mass quantity basis. The prototype (as usuall) had about an entire weekend invested in it. I would hope that after the first few, that time could be knocked down to just a few hours.
I will keep everyone posts on the project's progress, if there is any. I am sorry to have disappointed anyone by not offering these.
