Well, I had the Mercury Marauder (MM) for almost two years w/o turning a wrench on it. The wife (and I) was quite surprised I lasted that long! I'm still not gonna mess with the motor since its my DD and work car, but just giving it a little pick-me-up via a Performance Industries 3000 stall speed converter and some Ford Racing 4:30 gears. I've also got a very mild tune via a SCT X-Cal2, that was needed anyway to compensate for the gears and converter. Too bad I won't be able to document, via time slips, how these affected the MM. I'll let you know what the SOTP meter says though!! :3gears:

Here is the tranny pan after only 30K easy,...ok,...semi easy miles. Yea, I had the yellow lollipop in the pan too.

Since I've only been into a couple of tranny pans, I don't know if this amount of metallic sludge is excessive or not. This is the first fluid change and it has all the break-in sludge built up. The magnet has about 1/8" of metallic build up on it!!!
