Sorry to do this. I hope I'm not stepping on any rules or anything like that.
But this is the last chance to bid on my friend's 2003 Marauder 300A. The auction ends tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. CST. The current bid price is $8,108.

It says 'No Reserve' but then the seller states at the bottom, " While I have every intention of running this auction to the very end, I reserve the right to close this auction at any time to accommodate an earlier purchase by an outside source."

I am the seller. My friend is the owner of the car. I'm selling it on his behalf.
Unfortunately, you've misunderstood what I meant. (Or perhaps I wasn't communicating effectively.)
The reason why I put that is because the car is for sale locally. I can't very well refuse to sell the car to someone who comes up with an agreeable offer (locally and prior to the end of the auction), now can I?
Say someone comes up to me and offers me $15,000 for the car, I will of course sell the car to that person and immediately close the Ebay auction. It's done everyday on Ebay. But, like I said, I don't foresee that happening.

You might have worded that differently, such as "...at any time if a direct offer meets the owner's desired price."
That way if does not sound as if you are sitting on a direct offer, and thus able to walk away from the "no reserve" auction.

You're right. Now that I look at it again, I worded that very poorly.
My intentions were to ensure that people understood I would sell the car locally and close the auction if a deal was struck outside of Ebay.
Unfortunately, I was pressured for time when I created the ad, so I didn't get a chance to carefully edit my words.
Thanks for pointing it out.
Nonetheless, at this point, I don't have a suitable offer locally. I *have* had two or three offers - one person has called twice to make offers - but I don't think any of those are going to pull through in the next few hours. (I think I can only close the auction down outside of 12 hours if there are any winning bids, which there are, of course, since it's a no reserve auction.)

Also, I have almost 50 "watchers" and over 800 "hits" so I gotta believe there are some people waiting to snipe a bid at the last minute. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the morning.
Too bad I don't have the money, or I'd buy it as a second Marauder to be used as a daily driver. :(

I think that has got to be the best deal on a used Marauder!
