Winter wheels.

I was thinking of buying a set of standard issue black steel wheels from a P71 Interceptor to put on in the winter instead of ruining my wheels on the crappy, salty Michigan roads. Yes they will fit as long as you have the stock front brakes. Ebay price seems to high. Check with Ray the dealer he is a member of this site.

I just got a set of used 17" 2003 Town Car wheels from the same seller.

Some tires, lug nuts, and lug nut covers and I'll be ready for whatever amount of winter I'll get here. Locals say about 8 weeks.

OEM CVPI 16" steel rims should bolt right on. There used to be a 16"
"UNIQUE" OE Style rims available from DTD (www.tires.com). If you can find a nice 17" option I would go for that. Just MHO

They are replacing my Michelin Artic Alpine from 3 winters ago.

Yes, as the other members have said, they will bolt right on with stock brakes. The newer 2006 and up CVPIs come with 17'' steel wheels. I wonder where we can get those.

I have the same rims listed as the first link, they're the P71 rims. I just repainted them gloss black today and I have Dunlop (forget the model tire) mounted on them. Will be putting them on this Saturday when I do my brakes.

My first year I drove the snow, I had (4) 1998 Marquis steelies, $190, (2) Blizzack WS50's, $175, (2) Kelly wintermark studded, $180.

(4) Wheels and Blizzack YS50's for the Focus, $690.

(4) YS50's for the Vator, $390

Not having to drive the MM in the snow....

The price in that Ebay ad is pretty high, I would keep looking, contact Ray the dealer, check the classifieds here and keep watching Ebay. I just got 4 steel wheels off a 03 CVPI on Ebay for $199 INCLUDING shipping 2 weeks ago. I then bought Wintermaster tires from Firestone for $60 bucks a piece, they also had a deal going on that weekend for mount/balance at $5 bucks a wheel. My total price for the wheels, tires, lug nuts and mount/balance was about $520.

The original MM Winter Tire Package was for $500 from DTD (Discount Tire Direct) and included 4x Michelin Artic Alpine mounted on 16" non-OEM steel rims. After a little grinding they fit just fine.
