For those who care to keep track, I have owned my 04 DTR for exactly two years today. Drove it home October 22, 2004 starting with 12 miles on it. Today there are 28,320 miles on it as I use it as an almost every day driver.
I continue to have NO complaints about this car. I've read other typical problems noted on these boards and the only one that's gotten me so far is the flickering heated seat button light. I haven't fixed it yet. Also, I had a front end squeak that turned out to be the hood latch which I fixed. Lately, I replaced the horns myself because one horn died. Honestly, nothing else. Steering is great, tires seem to be wearing okay still, no blue smoke in the morning, etc. I hope it keeps going strong.
Just thought another two year anniversary data point would be useful.

congrats on the good luck haha. i saw in your sig that you have replacement autometer gauges. i've seen other people have these too. why do you and the others replace them, are they defective or do you have a diff style in there now

Both of the gauges are not very accurate - one is a dummy and the other is not much better IIRC. I have not replaced mine but if I had extra $ I would.
My question is, how did you fix the hood latch? I have to grease mine every two weeks or so - really damn annoying as everything I have tried (adjusting bumpers, rubber hood stops) just doesn't work.

The OEM oil press gauge is just a glorified dummy light. As soon as it registers 6psi it goes to around 68psi on the gauge. Most people here swap out the OEM one for a real autometer gauge. There's a writeup in the reviews section.

I haven't "fixed" it because it won't stay fixed. I grease the whole mechanism where the latch catches the hood liberally and it lasts several months before squeaking again. In fact, it just started squeaking a week or so ago - time for more grease! Just an annoyance, not a real problem. Jon

Like you see in this thread the oil pressure gauge is just an idiot light - not a pressure measurement. The volt meter was fine before but I changed both because the old pair and the replacement pair light up differently at night. I wanted them to look the same. Actually, I wish i had the stock voltmeter back - it was more accurate. Maybe I'll put it back in! The new one reads about 0.5 volts high. Jon
