Went to the street Battle @ No Problem last Sat Nite.
Gates opened @7 got there @7:10, 45mins to get to the ticket house. On the radio I could hear the MC calling classes to the lanes and shutting down tech. I called the track to tell them there were racers waiting for 45 mins to get in.
They pushed every thing back an hour. They had the US Marines doing a fitness contest, several bands, burn out contests and mc stunts.
During the time trials I "beat" 2 mustangs, P/U with a fuel cell and a Diesel Truck. I lost to a p/u with a full cage and a Camaro SS. They ran 10.842 & 11.982. The Camaro let up because we both thought we were racing.
My first race was againest a Diesel Truck who broke out.:banana2: The second race I lost againest a full cage Camaro. My dial in was 12.32 and I ran 12.399. My R/T was slow .367. His dial in was 11.3 and he ran 11.602. He got me on the R/T .118. Beating me by .0263. It was 1:10am, frankly I was so tired I did not care.
The temp 66* & hum 68%.
The times were;
12.525 @108.38 1.8
12.372 @109.09 1.792
13.337 @107.26 2.126 spun out
12.437 @108.15 1.723
12.329@109.18 1.765
13.028@107.66 1.997 spun out
12.399@108.6 1.736.
The spin outs occur when I race a car that does not do a burn out and goes straight to prestage. The only way for me to heat up the Nittos is to start the burn out in the water box and then carry it up to the prestage, which takes time. I always fear they will have the clock on when one car prestages which only allows so many secs for the next car to prestage.
Over 20 groups of people came by to compliment the MArauder, so many that I was getting aggrevated and had to check my own attitude, several took pics. One fellow said he was rooting for me, another could not believe a car that big could run with a Viper.
A viper was running 12.2. An early Barracuda with wing and cage that came in on a trailer in perfect condition ran 12.19.
I had a great time and a lot of people were impressed.:banana2:
