well when i was stumple bumbling around the interent i found this site www.rockblocker.com (http://www.rockblocker.com) on the jeep cherokee srt8 site and they were going to give them group buy discounts on light protector film in colors (blue, yellow, or smoke) and they already do it for most dodges, mainly the charger, but i would kinda think it would work for our and look nice to have smoked (or i want the blue) film over the head and fog lights.... anyone else's think so?
this is the link with pics of the forum i saw it at

i already have clear 3M protection film on my headlights.. i think its worth it to keep the headlights from hazing and getting rock chipped, but i dont know about those colors.. i cant imagine the cops would like the blue too much..

Count me in on the smoke if they're legal.

I do not like the Blue.....personally.
And, I would not do the Smoked on a car that is driven at night. I like all the visibility I can get ;) Perhaps if I installed HID's???

If you read the thread at the SRT forum, the guys who used the smoke said it definately degraded headlight output.
Looks good...if you don't drive at night.

I thought our headlight lenses were already "smoked"?

Sooooo, get HIDs with these to compensate? :D

Nope, we have the black on the inside behind the otter plastic that "darkens" the look of the headlight

Well, I have HID's, and I wouldn't mind having the blue ones, but why the hell should I make my lights more blue? Maybe I just like that color blue, I don't know ;), I definately wouldn't mind trying out the smoked lenses, and put the HID's through the test to see just how bright they shine through those protector's. All I know though, count me in on blue driving light covers picture'd on that black Charger.

So, how do we go about contacting them if we have enough people? If you all want, I'll shoot them an email if enough of us would like some. I'd definately like to see some driving light covers. I just checked their site, and all they offer is products for the Cougar, Mariner, Montego, Mountaineer, and the Sable.

They have them for 1998 - 2004 Crown Vics. Would they be that much different from a Marauder's headlights?

I emailed Rockblocker for us, and this is what they said:
"Jarod,
Thanks for the inquiry into our products. We would be interested in pursuing
this possibility further with you and the marauders folks. What exactly are
you looking for
Headlight
Turn Signal
Fog Light
Tail lights
Kits?
Usually what we require is this. The ability to pattern the parts, local
would be best (PHX Az) and a minimum of five orders ready to go. The more
people wanting to do this the better the price would be.
The first 5 would get free shipping and a price of $49.95.
Kick around with your group and let me know what you come up with.
Thanks
RockBlocker"
So, $50 bucks to start wouldn't be a bad deal at all, and I have already told them count me in as #1. So, 4 more would be a start to all this. Personally, I would be interested in the whole Shabang as one kit, but if most of you don't want all that, I was thinking the Foglights and Tail lights. But, this will be a group buy, so please chime in and let me know what you want so I can email them back!

I'm going to e-mail them back asking what colors they offer. We need at least five, so if you're interested black 03, we'll need only two more. I'm going to ask Mary if she can set a pole up for me once I know what colors they will offer, and a separate pole perhaps asking what people would be interested in. I'm sure if we got over 10-15 people, they might reduce the cost for us. So, let me get back to them.

Lets see if I can shed some light for you folks over here on the Marauder site.
First - the film is made from high impact resistant vinyl film that is available in clear, blue, yellow or smoked. You can mix and match any color combo you want. As for others referring to the 3M version sorry to say 3M doesnt make any light protection, but they do make the adhesive that we use on the film :).
Colors and choices.
Smoked will reduce your light output up to 17%. Not usually recommended, but a lot of Charger folks sure like the look.
Clear - Of course will not change the output of the light at all.
Yellow - Will give a nice yellow look on the road, preferably for the fog lights.
Blue - Is our most popular color since it gives a nice look to the vehicle and most will tell you that it enhances the light output from the light. The blue film can not be seen at night from oncoming traffic. If it can they look just like HIDS anyways. The police only have issue with blue or red flashing lights in most states.
The coored film is sold as off-road use only and if you are at all worried about your state laws, please contact your local highway patrol since they will know best.
Now to the fun part= pictures of what it can do for you and your ride while protecting the light from breaking and/or pitting.

We will be looking for two things before production can begin.
1. we need a Marauder and/or the lights so we can make a template
2. we need at least 5 orders of any combination.
Standard prices are
headlight/turn signal/fog light kit $49.95 plus shipping
Fog Light only $19.95 plus shipping
Headlight only $29.95 plus shipping
Prices come down from there based upon orders. If we can help answer any more please let us know.

Rockblocker, I would donate my MM for the guinea pig, but I'm in MA and not sure where your closest shop is? Will you be doing the tail lights? I'm definately interested on those, especially smoked. Count me in on blue fog light covers and tail lights if you do them.
