There ok but they can be more prone to noise that is why I use FMS

'Gears' (ring gear...3.73, 4.10, 4.30, etc.) get bolted onto the differential (FMS, Eaton, Auburn, etc.) which mounts inside the rear axle housing.
The matching pinion gear gets bolted into the front snout of the axle housing.

I recently checked with a local speed shop about gear upgrades, they had a strong preference for the FMS gears. In addition to mentioning noise issues with other brands, they even called some of the other brands "crap". Since I intend to keep the MM indefinitely, and the wife drives it a good bit, I will gowith the Ford gears when I am able to get them done. The MM is our "everything" car, so I need something rock solid for the long haul. If it was used only for fun then I could entertain other gear options.
