When I finish my turbo install I will have a new 90 mm MAF with the stock injectors. I anticipate that the car will run satisfactorily under no load conditions. I was going to put some easy miles on the new motor and then put the 60 lb injectors in and take it for a tune. I am considering just putting the 60's in from the start to save some time. With a major miracle I could make it to MVIV.
I think the car will lean out a little with the new MAF, CAI, and turbo exhaust path, but be safe under light loads. If I put the 60's in, I am expecting it to run rich, but how much will it really affect the car under light to moderate loads? Should I be fine to put some miles on it and drive it to get tuned?
My impression is that the FMU will try to maintain 39 psid across the injectors, but the PCM will be telling the injectors to fire at the same rate as before, but now they will be twice as big.
Any thoughts gearheads?

It will run, but poorly.
Going to 60's from 24's is a big step.
You need to adjust the injector break point values in the pcm.
You will also need a MAFia to make the 90mm Maf work for big HP.
If you know who will be tuning your car, just have them make a base file for you so the car will run fine through the break-in period.

I would go with 60 pound injectors and a SCT B2800 Maf and I would use the GT pumps, this is no brainer in tuning

...I would use the GT pumps...

He already has a GT pump. We put it in at my place a few months ago.

BTW, I was really happy to see you using/selling them.

Rich,

Some help might get me in the running. The motor is in, I have to hook up all the accessories, install the turbo, intercooler and piping and then hook up the instruments (Eboost controller, wide range A/F, Fuel pressure gage, real oil pressure), finish the fan mod, swap the tranny valve body, drive shaft and a DS loop. Not impossible, but daunting. :D
Scott Beer has agreed to do the tune if I can get ready...
I fly back in Friday afternoon, after being away for 6 weeks and having one day off in the last 32 days worth of 12 hour days.
So what are you doing Sunday?
I do need some help with the instrumentation for sure! The valve body and DS can wait, but I sure would like to get it running this weekend!

I could drive down Sunday pretty early. Gotta Leave by about 4:30 to pick up Jami, though. I could prolly give you a good 6-8 man hours. Gimme a call. PM if you need my # again.
I'll call Greg and Eddie and see if they are up for it. They were super on Marc's S/C install. Whadya think?

Edit:
Greg can make it and prolly Eddie will, too. (Talked to Greg by phone.)
Gimme a call.

An FMU will not work with your EEC. Use the 60 #ers and larger MAF from the start. At least get a base tune to get you going.
