SSM Poker: Next Saturday Night?

Hi all,

Since there was quite a bit of interest in this, let's try to get the SSM Poker Night started.

For starters, Ghost03 (Rob) has offered to let us use his patio/pool area with covered tables, etc. for the night. I can supply the chips and cards. This would be in Davie, Florida, about 1 minute from the Tower Shoppes.

We're thinking next Saturday, November 4th, would be a good date and time. How about it? $5 buy-ins, Second place gets his $5 back, Winner takes rest? 5/10 No Limits, Blinds Double every 20 minutes?

Note: Not sure how many players will be interested. If we have more than 6 (or 8 at the most), we'll need to have more than one game going at once. If this is the case, we'll need more chips, etc.!

Is the pool in his house or a part of a condo? Security will chase you out soon as the fun begins (don't ask me how I know).

If the pool is in his house, what is the policy of smoking/ drinking?

I live in a condo and dont worry about the rules. I am on the BOD. As long as you drink responsably I have no problem with it.

Sure, 1 or 2 drinks the whole night. When driving you do not play with drinking.

What about cigars? Please?

I am not going to speak for anyone else but I personally do not like the smell of cigars. They give me a big head ache. Let others post their opinions on the cigar

I think that Friday night would be better off. We could meet at the Tower Shops and drive to my place then order some Pizza's. I figure Friday would be better being that it would avaoid some people having to drive to Davie two times in two days especially you Rick, plus im sure its easier for most people to get out of the house and away from their segnificant other one night instead of both.

Im sure that most everyone has already finalized plans and test/tunes for MV4 so lets forget about the meet and play some poker....Have some drinks and change things up a little.

I have 2 covered areas poolside we could use so we dont have to worry about rain. Bathrooms are 2 feet away plus a fan so we will be quite comfortable........

So who else is going besides Rick and myself.

Its all about having fun BUT 0.50 cents??? Come on Steven get real. It will be fun however taking money from everyone :D

If you want to stop by thats fine.. I have a bunch of M&M's and skittles left over from tonights Trick or Treating that you can use as poker chips,but dont get angry if some of us start eating the M&M's and skittles off the table. :lol:

If you guys change your mind about the cigar issue, my brother (TheBossMM) and I might go. If the game starts at 9:00 pm or so and cigars are allowed then we are in for sure.

Otherwise, no hard feelings and good luck to all. I sure hope that this Poker Night thing catches on. My brother and I play in a small game every Wednesday night and it can be a lot of fun.

Steven, even though it is all about having a good time, people don't play the same when there is no money involved (yes, $.50 buyins is "no money").

Even if there is a small reward, people will take the game with at least some seriousness and that make the game fun. Otherwise, people will go all in just because they need to take a pi$$.

If you played, you would know what I mean. BTW, I hate playing against amatures. They are fearless because they are not understanding the odds which makes them all too hard to read.
