I haven't had time to buy anything to fix my static issue with my CD changer so I would like to know what to buy and where. Do they sell these things at Auto Zone or do I need to go to an audio store? Does anything that works on a home sterio work on our CD changer too?
This thing gets static everyday now and not every four months. Last night I had to get out of my car in stop and go traffic on a toll way to get out and clean the thing... to me thats enough.

Should be available at most any autosound shop, Walmart or Radio Shack.
Maxell CD-AUTO Automotive CD Lens Cleaner
Your car's interior can be tough on CDs and CD decks! Maxell's CD-Auto multi-brush system restores the performance of your vehicle's CD player by removing the debris, dust, and residue that can accumulate in the CD mechanism. Simply insert the cleaner disc into your CD slot, and follow the voice instructions. This dry cleaner is for use in automobile CD players only (will not work in drawer-type CD players).

Heck no dude they don't sound as good as Vinyl and if I had the choice I'd have a record player in the car and 45s to play in my in dash. I like having the books and stuff... I totally hate music downloads, but an ipod is also a solution so thanks for the advice. :D
Also thanks Donny I'll look into getting one of those on tuesday. While I'm at it I might see 1984 again. ;)

I saw a record player in an old Impala up at Woodward this year and thought it was the *****. No chance of skip protection there.

It should. The changer is essentially the same as a dash player, except there's a cart that offers up several CD's. I would imagine if it isn't compatible it will say so on the instructions. Maxell makes two other conventional CD cleaners, I imagine they would work if this one doesn't.
