How much can timing be advanced, with 110 octane fuel?

All of it?
Just kidding...Honestly, that would be different from car to car. There may be some target numbers to start poking around, but determing your real "absolute" number will be "trial and error" research from there, IMHO.
I have added as much as 7 degrees with 110 with no pinging.

But the REAL QUESTION!

How much timing with this bad boy in the tank????? Insane!

I beleave that the reason there is a differance between identical engines is that all timming chains stretch different amounts...plus carbon buildup in combustion chambers varies

Lidio gave me a track tune to use with my Sn** methanol injection that adds 2 degrees of timing amongst other things and adds about 30hp to the output.
The meth injection needs to be used to run it.

You read my mind Rich,
My next question was timing VS. methanol injection.

110 is a little excessive unless you are running a blown car. For maximum performance, you want to run the lowest octane that the car won't ping on. I ususally setup "race" tunes for 98-104 octane, and that's for blown vehicles as well, unless they are making crazy amounts of power (usally 20+ psi or nitrous). Then some 108 o 110 (unleaded) will add a little safety buffer.
The other thing is, the motor will only tolerate a certain amount of timing before power drops off. Just because you put in 110 and added 10 degrees of timing and it's not pinging, doesn't mean you haven't past the threshold of power for the motor. The best way to find out is to get on a dyno and keep raising the timing until power drops off (with 100+octane of course).
As far as meth/alcohol kits go, the nice thing about them is that they cal let you run a race tune on pump gas. BUT, they will also affect your A/F ratio, usually driving it pig rich. Once again, you should get the car on a dyno, and have the A/F and timing tweaked for the injection system for best performance.

Hey Rich, isn't that the Snow kit you have?

How do u like the Meth kit? do you notice a big difference... How much was it...? hmm how much extra timing is needed withthe meth kit.. is the timeing added the entire time or does it bump the timing up when you engage the kit?
hey, SergntMac ur almost at 10,000 posts... nice...

Since you asked... yes it is! http://www.snowperformance.net/
No additional timing involved. I use the system as a buffer against bad gas. When I get into boost it starts spraying ( 50/50 mix).
On Lidio's dyno it was good for 10flbs of torque. We tuned the car without it on, then dyno'd it with it on.
Then he did the plus 2 degrees tune for me to run only on the track with the meth on.
The kit has no timing controls it runs off the MAF sensor.
Oh, cost was under $400.00 from Su****.

I'm doing that myself, no censorship.
I do not want to post non-vendor information. That's all.
Support the vendors of this site. They pay so we can play.

Bradley,
Not sure if this helps or not, but here is my info.
Im N/A, but I have a decently aggressive race tune that feels 10 times different than my regular 93 octane tune. Night and day, to be honest, and worth a consistent .2 tenths at the track. Not too shabby for just flipping programs.
Lidio has worked on it about 3 times since I started messing with the race tune stuff, and if I'm not mistaken, I believe he said I'm running 5-6 degrees advance timing, using CAM2 100 Unleaded. Zero pinging. He's extremely picky about making sure his tune is up to his standards, and safe at the same time. Also, that 285 rwhp number in my sig is an "average" over 4 runs I believe. Not too bad for my modest mods. It's all in the tune.
I don't know what you'd need with your blower though.
Good luck.

C'mon Rich, I thought you were smarter than this. No one ever said a word to you when you were buying his kit and sharing install problems with us, right?
If there are enough interested members, any one of our present vendors can step up and arrange a group buy. It's that simple, and it's not new. If you got questions, call me.

What is the stock timing?
2004's can pull 6* out of the tune(via knock sensors) right?
