Nice rims - very 'turbo' like. Glad you like them.

Dude, what up with the stickers on the paint?

Yeah, beautiful car, but I'm not down with the stickers. :help:

Like the wheels! Nice job!

Are you anti American meat heads?? I'm certainly not, I fully appreciate our freedoms and what others do to protect our freedom.

Do you get a noticable difference in the ride on the higher-profile tires?

Thomas - I think it was just the fact that the stickers are on the paint instead of the glass!

Thomas -

easy now ! I don't believe 4th & Directedby, say anything about the US flag sticker. Your pic isn't very clear and at first glance they look like some sort of sponsor sticker.

I believe that's what they were commenting Quote "what up with the stickers on the paint"

I do not put any stickers on the paint. No matter what they are. Maybe decals or stickers for the window.

Any sticker is a PITB to get off paint, especially the glue residue.

Everybody OK now ?!!

I guess I like the original wheels and tires better. Sorry.

My 9-11 sticker/flag is on each of the rear door quarter windows.

Thomas -

I was just taken back that stickers were put on the paint.

And as an American, trust me, my flag is bigger than yours.

Sincerely yours,

Anti American Meat Head

I like the look. :) Are those 255/50-17 tires? Personally, I always thought the 245/55-18 was a bit too tall for the car. I like the big/little combo but more on the width...not the height. my 245/45 and 275/40 are almost the same height...the difference is less than 1/8" if you do the math. :D

Gotta give Todd a break--he has a keen sence of being able to pounce with a phrase, slogan , reference, statement , movie, combo-phrases , and things even I haven't heard yet...this is
unique ..something like .....well first thing comes to mind is......Rainman........I mean Raymond....see it's catching....!!!

Todd can provide that quick comedy input which I believe has put down many a uproar that was about to explode...,,but it's so hard to ghet across your true input sometimes even funny ones..as with what Sarge has described here- in as "one-dimentional " inter-talking--though I was gonna say it didn't ya....

All you keep me  so much it makes it ..watch it..difficult to reply at times...

What is important is that Thomas likes it.

Looks like they fit well with offset etc.

Remember one of Mercury's plans for the marauder was to offer special limited edition packages with different wheels etc. thomas is just doing that himself

To tell you the truth I'm neither here nor there on Thomas's wheel choice. I don't like putting stickers on paint,I prefer them on glass, but I admire and respect our flag and his choice to "fly" it on his Marauder.
Now I may say something bordering on sacrilege to most but I never really liked the stock wheels or the exhaust tips,to me ,IMHO,I think they're too gaudy.
OK,I've got my fireproof suit on ,I can take it.LOL

Potter,

I am not a big fan of the rims style...I kinda like the 5 star look....but the tires look awesome...especially the front being as wide as the back......sure do like that blue!

Oh, I never got a chance to publicly thank you but I am the guy that contacted you through ebay about how you liked the MM and you sent me pics of your 3 cars....thanks dude I got mine a little over a week ago....and thanks for pointing me to this board it was a big PLUS for the car....

I think he put higher-profile tires on it to make up for the smaller diameter wheels.

Mark McQuaide

OK, I looked at his other post, Thomas has 50-series all around on his, while the stock MM has 50 series on the front and 55 on the rear, so he has a lower profile on the rear. MY bad

1) The USA flags are magnets.

2) Ride quality is the same, but does have some side 'pull' on 'rutted' lanes typical of wider tires, no big deal.

3) Handles better due to wider tire and lower height sensor.

4) Not the ultimate wheel, but I dislike boring 5 spoke wheels that every Corolla and Saturn has.

5) 243 HP on dyno at Ford Carlisle, decent!!

Well all I can say is the decals look better in person than by looking at a picture. I saw and spoke to Tom at Carlisle on Saturday, 5/31. He also lower the car by 1" in the rear. I noticed that it did not have the Marauder stance that the others have.
The car does look sharp.

Personally, I like ALL of the "individuality" that has been described/displayed on several Marauders. (the jury is still out on that Rhino push-bar and small steelies in the Photo Gallery though, Hack....J/K)

It was said here a long time ago (I think by "The Kingpin") that without really presenting the car this way...Mercury created a masterful "platform" for enthusiasts to build on.

I think that is certainly true.
