After the Oregon Chapter meeting today, i decided to take a drive down to one of the local L-M dealers.
They have one Black 300A still, with over 230 miles, and a new Silver with about 3 miles.

Both have "sale" signs, the Black says $33,650, the silver says $33,860. Both are noted after rebate. They are obviously still adding a premium to MSRP

I popped in to my dealer last week to visit the black 300B they've had on the lot for the last 3 months...A big orange sign in the windscreen said "was $34,495, now $28,999"...no mention of rebates, but I'd be willing to bet they were included in that new price...only had 39 miles on it...

Last time I stopped at the dealer I found one with a vinyl top :bs:
Now my doctor told me to stay away from the dealership:alone:

I remember when the Buick GNX came out there was a dealer in Arlington Hts.,Il that had one. They had it roped off in the showroom with a second sticker alongside the original sticker showing a dealer markup in price,I was sort of astounded ,as near as I can recall it was a $20 or $30K markup on top the MSRP. There were only 500 GNX's made, some of the Mercury dealers think the Marauder is the same type deal and a chance to make a killing. The Honda dealers were marking up the S2000's by 3-5K over MSRPin California,my son bought one here at MSRP and they threw in some extras. My cousin just went to look at a new Mitsu Evolution out of curiousity, the dealer had added a bunch of cr_p to it to drive up the price and refused to let him sit in it or even open the hood for him.He could've wrote a check and driven out with it if he'd wanted. Every dealer is different, some think a new popular car is a license to take people to the cleaners, some are pretty square shooters. They can only pull that markup stuff if someone lets them. My best friend just bought a top of the line 2003 Harley 100th Anniv. Edition and paid 2-3K more for it cause he could get it in 2 weeks instead of 2 months where I can get deals on Harleys,we all told him he was goofy,he knows he overpaid, but he's happy so we all dropped it. We pays our money and makes our choice.

My local dealer has 5 300A's the newest built 9/02. One still has a hand written sticker asking $ 1,500 over MSRP (sticker). These cars are beat from laying in the lot for almost a year.

I was just at my dealers lot this weekend and they have the same two 300a M/M's from 9/02/. Now they have over 150 miles on them. Damn, I was the only purchase in over 9 months and the only one sold. This is starting to look like my 401K. Hope this car becomes a collectable before I do.

I know what you're thinking. Did he have a six cylinder or a supercharged eight cylinder? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being as this is a Mercury Marauder, the most powerful 4 door Sedan in the world, and would blow your bumpers clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?
