Ok I have been driving the car for a month now(replaced 98 2.73 rear gear CV) and yes my fuel consumption went up even though the car is "capable" of better fuel economy. So here are my questions. Car has 51K on it
I am trying to solve a full load miss, fuel pressure on boost (12 psi) 4000 rpm is only about 40 psi, BAP setting is 33. cleaned the fuel filter last night (Ford was closed but I just bought a new filter) and it improved but I have not measured the new rail pressure. So can somebody tell me what it should be?
Is there a prefernce for fuel filters? I am assuming the stock one is best? anybody do a flow test? Fram Purolater ?
If fuel is not enough what fuel pump to put in? The Ford GT 40 looks like the hot ticket? Power level ws 400 hp at rear wheels. It looks like the car is marginal with the stock pump at 400 hp?
No idea on how old the plugs are. Will look at them tomorrow. If bad what would you put in the copper ones trilogy called for?
What differential oil do u recommned? It has the Eaton diff with Moser axels and I think that has an impact on what oil to use? I prefer synthetic
If I put in the J-mod what does that do to the shifty points/rpm? Should it be retuned to alter the shift points( my guess?)
Given I have the early kit (#69) in order to get a retune do I pull the piggy back chip and then a SCT or? I assume that pulling the current chip renders the car inoperative? That would be too sad Which tuner is recommended?
What do the ADDCo bars do for feel? Everything is stock is there a preferred upgrade path? Metco control arms?
so many questions? And yes I really am a rocket scientist

so many questions? And yes I really am a rocket scientist the only thing i can chime in on right now is the addco rear sway bar. I have not installed my Super charger yet. About a month ago though i installed the addco rear sway bar and you can tell it's back there... Search the threads on it.. Good luck Seneca

I put a rear bar and bushings (Energy Susp) and bushings up front. It made the car quite wallowing and really tracked nice. Same thing with ADCO? Tellme more I wast to know. This will proably get me in truble with the controller of the currency.......
Trying to follow your various threads is a little confusing. If I understand you correctly your using unknown plugs after installing a supercharger? Is that right?
If so, then change your plugs to the ones that came in the kit.
It sounds that one or more plugs is breaking down under load. This may also put a strain on the coils which can translate to their malfunction and cause other coils to fail as well.
I'm not a rocket scientist but I do get the big bucks.

I bought Trilogy 69
Been running it harder as I get the feel of it. On 3rd tank of gas (Note direct correlation between fuel econmy and right foot)
Ran into a miss situation where as it went up in gear ( no miss 1&2) the miss got worse. Classic symptom for spark problems but I have not been messing with cars for about 10 years so I am rusty.
Checked fuel pressure using AuroXray 5000 which says it is measuring rail pressure. Did not hook real gage up to rail assumed scanner was not lying (yet)
Checked fuel filter full of junk and noticably restructuve. Previous owner did not have problem and has not changed filter in while (yeah spare me the cracks about CA gas I already know all about it).I did add cleaner so maybe all the stuff laying around before got collected and shoved thru the filter? Who knows)
Sp I repalced the filter and reran the car. Fuel pressure holding at 40 psi ( I think too low?) but still misses.
Talked to some wondeful folk on this site who jogged my rusty brain and said go look at plugs
Plugs got gap way too wide ( like -050).How come PO not noticed? Got me. Could be running lean harder to light? So maybe still have problem with fuel pressure? Still don't know.
So after regap (can't find anything here locally I ask and they stare at me like two headed leper the nerve of them!) and then car does not miss. However front brakes are kinda blue from several hard runs followed by rapid slowing! car goes thru 3rd fast!
So I am back to where I was it does not seem to miss but I have this more than vague feeling I am missing something on the fuel pressure. I am looking for a dyno but again I am in CA so I will have to work it.
What I want to know is the Triogy SC folks some of them must have a fuel pressure gage on the pillar? Won't you tell me what you see?

I think a fair number of the really hardcore Trilogy folks were busy drag racing at SSHS6 this past weekend. Me thinks you'll hear more from them as they put their helmets down.

It would be good if they would share their vast wisdom as they descend from Mount Olympus!

Robomac,
If you are experiencing miss-fires on hard acceleration, I would agree with some of the other comments. I would check the plugs first. We reccommend changing your plugs when you install our kit and the gap should be changed. The proper gap is defined in our installation manual. There are several other areas that should be checked if you still have a miss-fire problem after replacing and regapping the plugs. But, that list could be very long. Call me! (313)336-6135. It's difficult to diagnose a problem when you don't have the car in front of you.
Hope that helps!

I'm going to suggest that if you see 40 PSI of fuel pressure across the injectors (presuming 42 lb injectors) you have sufficient rail pressure. The duty cycle may be maxed, but neither of these stiuations would result in a miss. BTW, there is an upgrade kit for the OEM fuel filter that not only delivers better filtering, but also cures those 45 degree bends just before and just after the filter. This alone, can improve fuel system problems and lead to better (and more stable) PSI.
A miss is electrical, loose wires, failing COPs, weak connectors, bad plug/gap, ect. Use the recommended parts from Trilogy, a lot of work went into the design and engineering. If this fails to show results, it's going to be a project troubleshooting the other components.
