can anyone tell me what a stallion 3000 and a 3500 will foot brake on slicks or drag radials. my merc foots brake stall speed is around 2000 on slicks and around 1600 to 1800 on radials.

Yep, Dennis is right. "Stall speeds" in reality are somewhat vague, and lack the precision we give them. They are "ratings", not scientific/exact preset limitations. A 3500 stall should deliver you the results somewhere between 3000 and 3500 actual RPMs. A 3000 stall between 2500 and 3000 RPM, and so on.
The factory OEM Marauder torque converter is a 2800 RPM stall, effective between 2555 and 3011 RPMs, as tested and published by Ford. Thus, an agreement of "2800", or, "higer" stall than other Ford passenger cars. Here's a breakdown of all of them.
4.6L 2V CV/GM, pre 2003 MY...2094 to 2440 RPM
4.6L 2V CV/PI, pre 2003 MY...2319-2750 RPM
4.6L 2V CV/GM, '03 and later...2031-2374 RPM
4.6L 2V CV/PI, '03 and later...2372-2808 RPM
4.6L 4V Mach I/Marauder, '03 and later...2555-3011 RPM.
If you look at the spread of effective stall, and consider the average "seat of the pants" g-force of these specific automobiles, the lower stalls tend to contribute to an immediate and very short feeling that the car is quicker off the line. I've driven a bunch of stock CVs and GMs from as far back as 1991, (5.0L engines, but lower power ratings) and I have had that feeling..."this car feels quick". But, for about 10 feet.
Higher stalls in the CV/PIs I have driven have felt sluggish in comparasion, but I used to attribute that to all the extra police equipment and drag forces present in a loaded police cruiser. But, a higher than average stall is partially responsible. When I got my first Marauder, it was really a slug off the line, until I learned to drive it differently, and later, to tune around the shortcomings. Once I did, all was well.
NOTE: When I came into this 411, I asked Ford engineer if all of these converters are the same 11.25" unit construction, and I got a "you have three eyes in your forehead" look before he said "well, the '04s got some upgraded bearings." F.Y.I...
