Just like the title says. What is needed to remove the inserts from the rear bumper? Is it a simple process? I'm thinking just alcohol, soap, water, and some good ol' fashion elbow grease. Thanks in advance for any answers.:)

I assume you have the SS inserts. I had to remove mine to have the rear fascia repainted a few months back. It was pretty tedious and the inserts wound up trashed in the process.

I used fishing line to loosen the 3M tape on the back of the inserts, trying to get behind all the corners as much as I could (not much room to work with), and then I used a small screwdriver to pry them the rest of the way off. I used a towel behind the screwdriver and the loose parts of the inserts so as not to damage the paint. It'll take some patience, but they'll come off.

Remove the remaining tape off the fascia by rubbing it off with your finger and/or with some WD-40 or "Goo-Gone" adhesive remover.

This will take about two hours. First, warm up the glue with a hair dryer, and then work the edges of the letters loose with a dental pick, being carefull not to scratch the paint.

Then, apply some denatured alcohol behind the letters to disolve the glue. You will have to work the letters off a little at a time and add more alcohol as the each letter works away from the bumper. If you are patient ,the letters will come off, with no damage to them or the vehicle.
