View Full Version : Chip programming?

I've got DR's delta chip now with 2 programs, a 91 octane and a 93 octane. Several members have been to the Fordchips guys for reprogramming to optimize the chip. Also, I've seen where the PI guys have revised the programming to optimize the shifting with the Stallion TC. Then, to add even more confusion there are the custom programs for supercharging.

Since I don't know much about the chips and programming them, I may be asking a dumb question, but how do all these programs come together. Suppose I have Dennis' delta chip, then I add the Stallion mods, then get it optimized by Fordchips. Will I lose anything that Stallion did when Fordchips reprograms? If I needed a re-burn for some reason, does anybody keep a record of the program that would make it easy or do I have to go through the entire process again?

I hope these don't sound like stupid questions, I just need to understand how this works.

Nut:

Before the FordChip guys do anything, they will (or should) ask you what mods you have: plugs, torque converters, gear ratio changes, etc...their program will incorporate all the mods you have at the time of their programming. And yes, they keep a copy so if your ECM croaks or your dealer overwrites the program for some reason, they can restore it.

Lets not get confused I sell Ford Chip tuning, yes if you get the car on the dyno they will fine tune it, I get copies of these files also, but what you are getting from me is what we have meticulously designed for the Marauder, if you go with the PI converter, I can adjust for this with out the dyno, but again if you are privy to a dyno tune by all means get it, if not call me I will help any way I can

How many times can a chip be reformated....ie., I don't want to install 4:10's right now, but do want to get the Reinhart Chip. Dennis has told me it can be re done for the add on 4:10s, but is this something that can be reset several times?

Jim,

It's just like downloading software on your computer. Not a big deal to re-flash your chip.
