We finally had a COOL evening here in the tropics. High 60's earlier down to 59 now. BRRR. Great night for Test and Tune at Bradenton. Little get together organized by Jman to include the Michigan contingent Tyrone Minto and Dad and myself. Jake and I had new bests. Tyrone has a beast of course but ran his street tune to a 12.6 after a 12.4 at slippery town AKA Gainesville hockey rink during MVIV. It was fun to see them again. They are spending some extra vacation time at T's Condo at Bradenton Beach we should all meet him there next trip down. Cooler weather is fun at the track. We ran early as the track was mobbed, more arriving as we were leaving at 8 PM. If you do not know Bradenton you should. the track prep is astounding. thanks Jake. Dennis

It was nice to see Dennis and Jman at the track.
Their cars looked classy and smooth screaming down the track against each other. A sharp contrast to the ricers and full time mechanic /trailer queens.
The track is very good and they cleaned and VHT'd it a few times that night.
Ran two consistent 12.6 and a 12.41 on the 93 street tune. Their gas pumps were out of commission and I had enough 93 for 3.

Actually, it was Tyrone's idea! On my last run, my outside temperature display said 68*. That's the coolest I've run this car by 15*! Although it wasn't cold, the track more than made up for it. You could just pound it out of the hole with nary a slip! I bested my personal ET, 1/8th and 60' times. Did it with a full trunk of work gear (200lbs.) and 1/2 tank of gas to boot! I really had a blast until the parade of "Feng Sui" ricers showed up around 8:00pm! Oh by the way, Dennis only spanked me by 2+ seconds! His LED array looks awesome at night!

As a near kill story - My first run was against a Saturn L-series. When I walked over to it, I could see the Supercharger bolted on to the front of the motor! Holy crud! I beat him out of the hole strong and past mid-track, but that lack of a tune killed me on the second gear shift! He ended up getting me by a car-and-a-half but I was starting to come on at the end! I bet the old-geezermobile shocked him!

It was great to see you again Tyrone and Duane! Next time down, let us know with a little lee-time and we'll put together a party/meet!

Have a safe trip,

J

Congratulations guys, indeed it was a perfect afternoon for running, rare in Florida. Bradenton is what I call my home track and they actually use VHT. Mayra wanted to go the track but I was feeling lazy;) .... now I have (some) regrets.:(

Dennis and Jake way to go on the personal bests !!!:bows: Dennis you still have a 12.6 left in that car, get your 60' down to 1.8. I was out driving around yesterday and I could feel my car respond to the cooler air and low humidity... I could barely come off a red light without laying rubber or slipping; using same amount of pedal I always use without any sound effects.

I would have gone but....as Maury (cruzer) once told me "drag racing is as good as sex....almost" Know what I mean Vern???:D

......slippery town AKA Gainesville hockey rink during MVIV. ...........

OK, so it wasn't my imagination then. The track was more slippery than a regular paved street. My tires usually don't spin much at takeoff and chirp on the 1-2 shift. No wonder the car felt kinda slow.
