Ok here is my question for mod engines with SOHC or DOHC. I know there are stroker kits out there that are 5.0 liters. What is the max liters a mod engine can make? Is a custom built 7.0 liter out of the question? Yes new heads and alot of engine work would be required, alot of cost too. I know the 351 can be made a 427 stroker. Is it viable to go from the 4.6 or 5.4 to 7.0 liters? I think this would be the ultimate Marauder with 7.0 liters naturally asperated. Might not be streetable but who cares.

On the 4.6, the biggest I've seen commercially available is 5.4. Most builders won't do more than 5.3. Not sure what you can do with the 5.4.

You can go to I think a 5.3 with the 4.6, and the 5.4 can be taken to 370 inches (6.1L). That's the biggest you can go. There is not a lot of room to increase displacement on the mod motors, because A- you can only go .030 MAX with the blocks, and B- these motors already have long strokes. Even if you built a stroked 5.4, it's not a street motor, and will have to be rebuilt every year or so because of the excessive piston side wall wear from the short skirts and crazy stroke.

HOWEVER, the V-10 is a 6.8 out of the box, so that's much closer to your goal ;).

Or, you can just put a 428 in the car :D.

Thanks guys that helps, Yeah the 428 FE engine would be sweet. I wonder now how hard a 390, 428 FE style engine would fit in the 03 and up frames? That would be cool and just run a carburated engine.:D
