I have been looking and ordering Stewart & Warner Volts Gauges. Trying to match my HD Oil Pressure gauge. I was hopeful the one I just received was right on the money, but no luck.
Does anyone have the "ins" on old gauges. I need Volts gauge to match this:

I suspect I will just have to buy two new gauges.

Believe it or not, That look similar to a 1960's Mack Truck gauge. Try looking through truck parts instead of cars, you may have better luck.

try autometer vintage or traditional series.

I have totaly struck out with S&W.
May go with Autometer Phantom II Series.http://www.egauges.com/images/autometer/Large_d/7521_d.jpghttp://www.egauges.com/images/autometer/Large_d/7592_d.jpg

I know it's silly, but I am insisting on a mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge....
I really wanted to use the S&W, but in this world, we all have to make sacrifices....
Thanks for listening....

Okay, I'm a little confused here. You want a gauge that matches the SW, but then since you can't find it, you're going with a totally different gauge. And then you say you really want a silver face, but you're getting the Phantom II instead???
On the SW gauge, can you post a better pic of it, so I can see the face? I deal with these gauges often, from working on 427 Cobras. Also post the size of the gauge. I might be able to find what you want.
As for your comments on the modern ones, what exactly are you looking for? Autometer makes a mechanical oil pressure gauge that matches the Marauder stock ones, so why not just get one of those, or at the least one of the mechanical oil ones and another matching useful one?

Yeah, I know. I'm all over the place here.
Yes, I originaly wanted to match the S&W HD gauge I have.
I struck out so I started looking for alternatives.
I didn't know there was an exact replacement for the Pro-Comp Ultralite in a mechanical version, that would work. I am under the impression our gauges were made special for our cars.... If we want an exact match, we have to change out the face....
I can send you the pic if you think you can find a S&W that matches. I called S&W direct and the Tech. doesn't have anything there. Everything I found has red, yellow and green bars on the perimeter of the voltmeter. I don't like that....
Sal always seems like the voice of reason to me here.....

Yes, unfortunately the period correct gauge that I think matches the one you have, has the colored bar.
Here is one currently on e-bay...

You could just lose the voltmeter and put in a gauge that's USEFUL (WTF were they thinking with a voltmeter??). Then you would have more choices in vintage SW gauges that match better.
As for the Ultralite, yes, they make a mechanical one for oil pressure. If the MM one is different some how, I am not sure on that, but it probably is. Worst case, you could just buy an Ultralite mechanical oil and Ultralite voltmeter, and put them in as a pair. This way they'd still look OEM, but you'd get your mechanical oil pressure and they'd match.

I think those Phantom II's look good.
Anyone need a S&W Oil pressure gauge?
Maybe I'll put it on my lawn mower.....
