Im in the market for new rubber for the rear. I have the stock KDWS's on there and besides the crappy wear I am kinda let down that they dont chirp/scream when you spin them they just kinda make a scratching noise and i think it would be awesome to hear a nice bark on the 1-2 shift. So are there tires out there that provide good handling charateristics that make some noise when they are spun? Im gonna go with something in a 255/55/18.
Thanks,
Matt

As for poor wear what kind of mileage are you getting? What % is highway vs. city? What tire pressure are you running?

AS for the 1-2 "bark" 410's adn tune should give it to you.

I have a 300A and got 30,000 off the fronts, and 34,000 off the rears.
With the 300A cars ('03) no traction cntrol I put 245/55/18 all around:)
Control arns & sway bars......Handles like it's on rails:):):)

Yeah, My tires do spin on the 1-2 prettymuch all the time as long as it isnt 95 degrees out. What I am saying is that they just make a scratching noise and not a high pitched chirp.

I have the KDW2's they make a lot more noise when breaking loose, burnouts sound much cooler. :)

The volume of smoke produced in a burnout is the result of a relationship between tire compound, and the pavement. My Pirellis were easy to smoke up, but they didn't make much noise at all. I don't think "screeching" is a feature you can shop for.

Actually after the first few thousand miles my KDW2s don't bark anymore either. Just a few squeaks here and there, and I spin 'em good now.

Well the KDW2 seems to be the way to go then. Ill probably get em within the next week or two, Ill be sure to send the old KDWS's off with a few good burnouts and Ill see if i can get my buddy to film the stuff for you guys to see. I think its about time that the DTR's got a little representation on streetfire.
Thanks for the imput guys,
Matt

I like the KDW2s, just remember they are NOT to be used in snow. Sun and rain only.

Yup, Im certainly not gonna risk screwing up the mm. The MM is put out of duty with even the threat of snow

I promise...

Nitto 420S 255/55/18. I have them. Nice hard bark on the 1-2 even with an Art Car L2 tranny (HARD SHIFTS).

I have 27K on these tires and they are wearing evenly.

Stop asking, don't debate. They''re cheap, they look good, good wet traction, good mileage and a nice hearty bark on the 1-2.

Go getcha some.

Even if I keep the car out of the snow? Or is it that the tires just dont work well in the cold? Is it the same situation for the nitto's?
