OK, I am looking for pictures of subwoofer/amp installs in the trunk. Looking for upgrades that do not re-use the factory enclosure. If you could, please respond with the following:

1) Sub-type and size (i.e.: JL Audio 10" x 2)
2) Amps
3) Please include picture of the install in the car.
4) Pleased with results or not?

Also, just wondering if anyone has done a component install in the front doors. With the tweeter either mounted to the black triangle trip piece on the inside of where the mirror attaches or a customer, flush mount install in the door panel itself in that open area up near the dash.

Again, with the following:

1) Brand of component set and size of woofer in the setup
2) Mount position/location of the woofer part the component setup
3) Pictures of the door panel/install

Thanks for your time.

also if you need any help installing, im free next spring, too cold to do it now.

unless u have heated garage.

the reason i dont need/want is the extra weight, and trunk space loss. i wouldnt want to take the subs in and out at the tracks

Sub 10" Infinity DVC Kappa series
Sub Amp, JL Audio 250/1
Boc, custom MDF by me (used the T-S parameters and made it to spec). Its a selaed enclosure, much better response and no muddiness

Fronts, yes used components, Infinity Reference series, the tweeters are mounted to the triangles, I painted them with trim dye (Ford interior paint) to match.

I'm very pleased with my setup, I also have an Eclipse head unit, and will eventually go to a 4 channel for the cabin speakers, needs more volume with the windows down cruising at speed.

I did repalce the front mid-bass drivers from the component set with full Infinity speakers, kept the x-over and the tweeters too, didn't make a big difference but it helped, really need a seperate amp the head unit is good but its not enough.

I put an Infinity Basslink in my car - bought it used from a friend for a very good price and had it in my old car, so I reused it. There may be cleaner installs that go in the old amp/sub combo's spot but this isn't so bad either. Could probably be turned on it's side and mounted on the shelf but be careful mounting it with the gas tank in that area.

I've taken the audio system in my Marauder probably farther than most people would, but I've got a thread here:

and there are pics in my gallery.

Here's side dimensions of a sub box I built and installed where rear spare was. I only made it wide enough for two 10" subs with adjustment of width to hit the ideal interior volume. This was installed so the subs are firing down into the trunk cavity. Subs were mounted on the 11-1/16" board face. Used 1" MDF. Traced inside three panels (endcaps, internal divider) after top, bottom, front & rear assembled. Then cut them out.

I have 2 Orion 12" subs being run off a 450 watt 1 channel amp. The subs are 500 watts each. I still have the factory stereo and the signal is form the factory sub. I also have a remote bass knob so that I can adjust the bass as needed with out taking my eyes off the road....it is mounted under the steering wheel. The amp is mounted to the trunk floor and the subs sit above the amp on an MDF board. I put black material and glued it to the MDF board. It sits perfectly across the trunk opening resting on the two humps. I also have my safety bag underneath the MDF board. The box and MDF board removes in seconds when you need to lighten the load for the track.

JL Audio PowerWedge box with dual 12" JL drivers, connected to a JL Audio 500/1 sub-amp and controlled by a Pioneer AVIC-2 Nav. unit. It is an amazingly powerful combination, and the Pioneer has many control options. The bass can be too powerful with some CD's. Really. The box has a standard bi-pin speaker wire plug connector for quick removal and hauling junk. More photos in my gallery.
