If you are like me, you wanted to attend SSHS6 in Atlanta this year. Even if you weren't planning to race, you probably wanted to attend. Some did - some went, and raced. But some couldn't make it...so you missed all the action.
Or did you?
Our own merc came back from the event with more than just a few more battles under his Veteran drag racing belt - he also brought back tons of footage from SSHS6. He spent what were most likely countless hours capturing all the footage and creating an SSHS6 DVD.
I was able to get a copy last night at a local car club meet. I had to cancel my Saturday night plans and crack a few beers open to watch the 1hr and 20min DVD I had in my hands.
It was worth it.
merc has put together some great coverage of the event on this DVD and I now feel like I was there. If you didn't go, where else can you see videos of Martyo and Jerry Barnes duking it out. Sure they didn't have the best runs as ever but you can see in their runs how SICK and FAST their cars are!
At the same time that you get to see some great Marauder victories and some killer bracket racing you also get to see the less-than-great parts of the event - sadly some Marauder carnage. You'll see the power of Marty's ride shred the axle, Jerry's car blow a head gasket, and even some Chevy's with problems. While we all want to see the great runs and victories, this is part of the event and it just makes you feel like you were there with it's inclusion.
Here's a few screen caps:
It's even got a nice title screen with scene selection and a cool slideshow!

So...if you want to see the action from SSHS6, hit up merc as he's got some great footage! Mark - thanks for capturing the action, it was great to be able to see how everyone did and feel like I had been able to make SSHS6!

Mark is right this is more than watching a 2 minute video on StreetFire. It looks good on my DVD case thanks to the materials used to create it. (Thanks Mary for the above post, I can agree with your statements Mark did a great job on this, labor of love we all here in the community can understand!)

Mark, If the still is available please let me know. I would love to have a copy of it. I have one with you and Pam but I am probably the only one in the universe without one with Todd. I really like this one as he is about to put me on the ground laughing again. Thanks for the DVD and best to you and Pam. Dennis

My friend Karen Barth Menzies sent me this information.
If the subject of the photograph has no reasonable expectation of privacy, then no invasion of privacy is possible. Photographs taken in public places generally are not actionable. Photos of crimes, arrests and accidents usually are considered newsworthy and immune from privacy claims.
Public figures, who voluntarily expose themselves to scrutiny, waive much of their right to privacy.
Corporations generally cannot claim a right to privacy; unlike the defamation tort, the right to privacy concerns the personal "right to be left alone" rather than reputation. Heirs cannot file suit on behalf of deceased people, although some states make exceptions for misappropriation claims.
If a subject does have a reasonable expectation of privacy, consent to have photographs taken and published is a defense to an invasion of privacy action.
In deciding whether to take and publish a questionable photograph, journalists must consider many factors. The following pages survey the privacy law of the 50 states and the District of Columbia, with emphasis on cases involving photography. In many states the courts have not addressed or resolved questions about the scope of privacy law. Many cases turn on subtle distinctions of fact, and could be decided either way. When in doubt, you should consult an attorney or call the Reporters Committees toll-free legal assistance hotline: 1-800-336-4243.

Did you consult Marty to see if he has a case against you about you taking a picture of him as he was drag racing (with your camera when he was drag racing) out in the open in front of your camera lense?
Holy smokes that makes no sense...PERFECT!

How can you trust someone who aids and abets you in committing copyright fraud? :D
Merc I would also like a copy. Please PM to let me know how. Is my GM on it? What I see looks pretty good.

Yesterday I got Mercs version 3 video. It is fantastic! It is SSHS6 relived. Best part for me was seeing the races I missed because I was in staging. Those of you getting the final cut will be very pleased for sure.
Thanks again Mark!
