Yep, it's my fault.:help:
The sun came out today,so I was backing the bike out of the garage when my 13 year old dog appeared from the bushes.
Well, didn't have the heart to run her over,so I leaned the bike to the right.
Yep,the MM was parked there.:alone:
Anyway,I put a small scratch in the drivers door molding.
My question is[finally],does anybody know if this piece is supposed to be painted black,or is it molded black?
On mine it looks like its just a regular Grand Marcs. painted black.
Non-magnetic,maybe plastic or aluminum?
Looking at it from the top down,I can see spots that were not covered in paint,I.E. silverish looking areas.
Any ideas? Thanks:D

nomad: Sorry to hear about that. I would start with a trip to "good" body shop. The boys there will be able to point you in the right direction.
My L&M dealer does not even have a body shop and the Ford dealer where I buy the Fleet vans is tops in the area! Thats good for me because I have been there twice and now after I get it out the shop (top being installed) it goes to the body shop yet again because some careless driver in a camery ran in the front fender.
Don't you just love it?

My Marauder is silver; the silver door molding has the same finish as the sheet metal, so I'm thinking it's painted. There is some black cladding covering the very bottom edge of the chassis (Not sure what it's called, but it seems like it's there to protect against rocks) that is definately molded black. Bummer about your scratch; glad you and the hound are okay.

Thanks for your replies.:)
I guess it's time to have a word with my salesman.
If I remember correctly,I specifically asked him if the door molding was painted or color molded.[Previous experience with others smacking their doors into mine]
He assured me it was molded the color of the specific vehicle.
Of course the first time he saw my jacket he said"wow, you bought the jacket, too?"
You know,2 or 3 more scratches and maybe I"ll just paint the whole car.Black"s nice. but what a pain to keep clean.

The moulding on the door may be moulded in black, but it is also painted body colour.
