I think I need to change another little light. The one for the volts gage. I have seen the plastic pannel that hold the 2 simply snap out with a gentle touch. Is that all I need to do? Snap it out and snap the light out or do I need to unscrew something? Thanks.

Turn ignition key to "on"....Depress brake....Move shifter to 1st....Grab the gauge pod on each side and yank it (crisp & abrupt pull=yank) toward the shifter and slightly upwards!!:) You will think for a moment it won't come past the shifter console but the slight upward motion will prove you wrong!!;)

Once you get it out of where it "lives" you can simply change the bulb(s) and push it back into place....it will re-seat with two distinct "snaps" as the rear clips engage the slots they lock into!!

Do yourself a favor and replace both bulbs while you have it out!!:rasta:

Good Luck!!

Thanks I knew it was as easy as it seemed. Why should I get the Big Red Book when I get all my knowledge from here for free? :D And yes putting the real gages would be a wise investment.

Just the oil pressure gauge. Ever notice how it doesn't vary? It's either Zero or 60. ON - OFF. Ford's been doing that for a number of years. Many here have replaced the gauge with a real Autometer OPG.

AutoMeter oil pressure gauge (includes sender) – 4327

Question. If I bought the real functioning gages do they simply snap into the wires where the stock ones did or do I have to do something else besides a simple plug in?
