The Marauder is fine I was just thinking about my truck. It currently runs 16.3 on a 350hp Ram Jet 350. What could I do to make it run 15s natural and without weight reduction? Thanks

In simple terms...

Heads, intake, exhaust.

I have all of that done. I even have header dumpers which can be quite fun on public roads. I just have a filter attached to the intake, but it's not a cold air intake so an intake would help, but I know that would cut a second off my time.

Push it with the Marauder

I would seriously consider a GM 572 Crate motor... Plus it will increase the weight like you want...

It's got a 3.73 already. What about port and polishing the heads would that knock off a second?

If I run mid 15s I'll be happy and the Marauder is above the truck as far as my concern for speed parts goes. I just wanna know how to shave a second off the time. I know with a 350 it's simple, but what do I do?

Install Nitrous Oxide System. It's the quickest most cost effective power adder. Easily additional 150 HP or more at the push of a button on that Ram Jet 350.

But I said natural. NOS breaks stuff. I've heard too many bad stories.

shave a second off, no weight reduction, and no power adder....what you are asking for is not realistic.... with your current setup....on paper 1 sec is looking at 100hp!!!!!

OK, if you want to do it the hard way. Just be ready to do LOTS of work (higher compression pistons, port & polish heads, more aggressive cam, stronger valve springs, bigger injectors, new tune are all just for starter) and spend LOTS of money. I've ran nitrous on at least 2 of my cars in the past with great results with no problems or parts breakage. If the NOS is set up properly and your engine has a sound ignition and fuel system and you don't go to crazy with the power level/jetting, you should not have any problems. The NOS should only cost about $500 or you can spend over $2000 and do it naturally.

Thanks for your info that really helped. If I was spraying I would wanna be in the 13s though. I know the best thing to do it to leave it alone, but I'm still young, stupid and full of unrealistic ideas. But seriously thanks for your post you put some light on this for me.

Your words, not ours. ;)

I agree, though, with the previous statement about you not being realistic.

Realistically trucks were not ment for such endeavors, but if you've got enough time and money, anythings possible.

Stroke it to a 383.

What heads are on the crate engine you got? There may be better heads in GM's catalog. P&P could help, higher compression, better fuel deilvery, tuning...no easy answer if you're looking for a full second in 1/4mi times. No one thing aside form forced induction or a stroker kit will do that for you.

How tall are the tires? A 3.73 with tall tires might not be that steep...you could try shorter tires perhaps for a bit more gear.

You're not going to "spray" your way from 16s to 13s and have anything to drive home. Hell, you'll need a tow from the tree...

Don't waste your time and money with the Blazer. Save your money and stick a blower on your Marauder. :burnout:

I just think this every few months, but still if I could get it to be as fast as a stock Marauder I'd be happy. The slicks are 31 inches tall just like the rest of the tires and don't worry my go fast expenses are still in the Marauder. I was just curious to know what to do to get it naturally going faster. Will I do it? Maybe. Will I do it before I get a blower for the Marauder? Not a chance.

Heck no. If I did that it wouldn't be in the condition that it's in. This ain't a rental! :D Like you said who cares how fast it is... well I don't modify it for anyone, but myself so theres your answer.
