I was fliping through ebay this morning and I noticed on one of the Marauder listings said something about Mercury coming out with am 07 Marauder. I haven't been to blueovalnews.com in a long time or done much internet readinf for that matter, so I'm not current on what's happening. I read a while back about the commercial. I heard myself, and my wife, the commercial for the Milan did say Marauder in the commercial several months ago. I heard it two different times. Anyways, I was curious if someone is just talking about something they don't know about or are there rumors, or better yet...

With the soccer-mom who's currently running the Mercury division into the ground? Never happen...
...or it will be re-born as a mini-van or wrong-wheel drive ricer like the Cougar.

They should make Marauder an option on any Grand Marquis/Crown Vic. With even a X-100 option (in honor of the old days). Then Ford would make them only to order for those who want them. Just an idea. I know I'm only dreaming.

L/M can use the Marauder name again, and it's likely they will somewhere down the road. Two other cars shared that with us before we came along.
But, what ever comes out down the road, won't match or meet the standards reset by our generation of Marauder.

what ever happened to the GMQ with a 3 valve rumor?

Unfortunately it remained just that. A rumor.
There is a pic of a 05 CVPI with a box covering the center of the hood being used by ford though. So it's a 50/50 chance it's either testing the new 3v in a panther, or its testing a engine for the 08 F150 since it's only a few lbs lighter.
Then again by 08 the platform itself is scheduled to be either overhauled or replaced entirely with a new car/platform but build at the same plant.

They should do that!!!! Then who cares if they only sold 1! They wouldnt mass produce them. Parts are a dime a dozen for ford anyhow...Marquis Grill, crown vic rear fascia

Super Marauder Convertible- The Inside Scoop:
<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Elena Ford, granddaughter of Henry Ford II and architect of Mercury's turnaround plan, will be competing in the 2007 Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Her vehicle of choice will be the soon to be announced limited production 7 Liter (427 cu in) 600 horsepower 2007 1/2 Super Marauder convertible.
It will have an optional "Starlifter" removable fastback hardtop that is expected to be certified by USAC, the sanctioning organization for the Pikes Peak event, as a roll-bar safety device.
A family friend who wishes to remain anonymous revealed Ms. Ford's soccer-mom persona is undeserved. "She is a real gear-head, but she had a previously un-diagnosed fear of supercharged vehicles" the family friend stated and added: "She met Bill Vukovich and is taking driving lessons from him in preparation for Pikes Peak, she wanted an experienced teacher". Bill Vukovich is a long time Pikes Peak competition veteran and Ford driver.
A spokesperson from the University of Michigan hospital would not confirm Ms. Ford was treated for her condition at the hospital but did reveal they have discovered a previously unknown and rare condition known as "Tyranosupereatonos" for a "terrible fear of Eaton superchargers".
It is believed the planned for 2005 supercharged Marauder was cancelled by Ms. Ford. The family friend added: "Elena told Ford engineers to pull-out all the stops and give her a 'teardrop' bubble hoodscoop and a 7 litre stump-puller and no supercharger. She has Henry's genes and loves to compete." The Starlifter top is expected to be a popular $1,000 safety option for the limited production convertible.

how about this rocket. . .
http://www.fpv.com.au/cars/force-6--8/overview.aspx
The Force 8 moves you with a 32 valve quad cam Boss V8, an engine comparable to Europe's best. The Force 8 is further enhanced with a unique FPV dual exhaust system and Boss V8 bonnet design.

Ncmm,
Ford could import that thing for Mercury under the Marauder name like Pontiac did with the Holden Monaro. I would consider buying one (if I could afford it.)

Dreydin,
Actually, I think the Falcons look a lot better than the GTO or the Holden Monaro that it is based on.

Stryker,
Yeah, I really love the 2003/2004 Marauder, too. But Ford is not going to bring that one back. At least the Aussie Falcon FPV Force is already in production and could easily be imported to this country under the Marauder name plate. It should be quite a performer, too!
