Rear gear swap to 99CV

Does anybody know if the 3.55 ring & pinion gear I took out of the Marauder is the same size as a 99 Crown Vic? My old '99 CV has 202k miles and the rear end is making a LOT of noise. I practiced doing the Jerry W changes on that transmission and it has no accumulator springs so it shifts hard (without enough engine to make it fun). I haven't removed the differential cover, I'm betting I'll see a lot of metal that's not attached to the right pieces.

My assumption is that it's not the same axle as the Marauder and therefore the gear won't fit. Anybody know for sure?

If the rear is a Ford 8.8 then the gears will fit.

It will and I would install all new bearings
