View Full Version : Tint the rear 3?

I was thinking about tinting the rear 3 windows on my Marauder. My last car had tint all the way around and I liked it alot. I just got tired of being pulled over hear and there for it. Btw, here in Illinois no tint is allowed on the front windows at all. Does anyone here have tint on just the back three? If so can you post a pic or 2? I don't want to spend the $$ and end up not liking it.
Thanks

In noting the time lapse, I take it that this probably won't turn out very good. I guess my solution was to be found buried beneath the silence.;)

Personally, I don't think it would look very good. I've seen a few cars here and there with just the back three windows tinted and it just looks goofy for some reason.
I would go all the way or not at all. But that's just me.

Your probably right, maybe I can go dark in the rear three and a little lighter up front. Split the difference between totally illegal and goofy looking.

I went 50% on the front side windows and 35% on the rest. The tint on the front is very light and not that conspicuous, while still blending with the rears.
I only got pulled over once in three years.

In Florida, the rear 3 are allowed to be darker than front passenger windows, I have 2 different levels of tint, is not that noticeable. Tint and no tint I don't think that would look very good.

This is what I'd suggest if your tint laws are strict (and it sounds as if they are!).
Leaving the front windows blank while tinting the rears gives an unbalanced look to the car, IMHO. Even a very light tint (such as 50%) on the front windows will balance it out nicely.
Either way, it's your car and you should do whatever you like the best. :)

I agree.
I've been around since the tint was spray-on...
Anyone remember that phase?:D

This is what is on MY MM.

I'm probably going to go with the darker in the back and lighter in the front scheme. I just wasn't sure of the %'s, thanks fellas.
