I was installing my HID fog's the other day, got everything mounted, when I noticed the bulbs were too long to fit inside the casing. Do they make shorter HID bulbs? I mean, they look the same length as my headlights. It's kind of weird too, there is no locking part on the bulb that you can twist into the slot. So, I'm kind of in a snafu and don't know what to do.

if you got the kit with the right light code it should be plug and play... if you decided to try your own thing... good luck

It's an H1 kit, but but the bulbs do not fit, and there are is no locking thing that makes it lock into place in the assembly.

Cuz they are H1 man. They won't lock in you have to have 9007 or whatever ours are for the fittings to match... unless you are putting them into the fog lamps... I think I am a little confused about what you are doing

Yes...it looks like he IS trying to install in the Fog Lights.
Do these just replace the stock bulbs, and have a ballast that pokes out the back?????

Rauder I had simular issues with my H1 HIDs. Its wasn't a lock tight fit for some reason or other. Mine had to be customed but paid off because they were siliconed in and no matter how hard it rains no water gets in and the don't bounce around. For the cost of those bulbs and kit 400 plus make sure they use silicone to protect them.

The first bulbs I had were not siliconed and one of them started to flicker at startup, they weren't H1s. either. My guy replaced them with the H1s and silicone and they've been going strong over a year.

Duh, I already have 9007 HID's (headlights) :P I am working on my FOG lights. They are H1's, and I HAVE and H1 kit, but they do not lock into place, and the bulb hits the front. jabo, could you perhaps provide a few pics of what you did with yours?

KillJoy, it is a full HID setup, ballasts and all. The b!tch part of it is that the ballasts are already freakin' mounted, I was filled with joy because I was more than half done, and wouldn't ya know that the bulbs don't fit in there? My Dad even tried, I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, but he couldn't get them in either.

Rauder I think this is it. That's why I think they use the silicone for protection.

Inner shield? I removed the "shiny" part one by hand, and it still wouldn't fit in? Do you mean that little "cast iron" old looking piece that comes out? Could you guys clearify, and/or pictures?
