My first oil sample was at 12,502 mi. and copper was the only metal reading out of line (high). Also, a little bit of fuel dilution was found, which is common in engines that see a lot of city driving.

My second oil sample was at 17,528 mi. and copper was still high, all wear looks normal, monitor at this point.

My third oil sample was at 22,866 mi. and copper continues to read a little high, it can come from poor wearing brass or bronze parts, or possible from lingering wear-in. All other wear is perfect.

My fourth oil sample was at 27,681 mi. and copper continues to read high, still possible lingering wear-in from a brass or bronze parts. Since it's basically remaining the same, not to worried at this time. Hopefully, it will come down in future oil samples.

My fifth oil sample was at 30,042 mi. according to the oil analyst, the 4.6L in the Marauder is different enough from the standard 4.6L that they started a new average file for it. So all the prior high readings on the copper is now an average.

Copper will eventually read below iron, at this rate it will take another 30,000 plus mi. before it starts to show.

My concern is the high reading of BORON, don't know what it is but it continues to read high.

All who has taken oil samples, did your copper read high, and if so, is it still reading high ? Did the oil analyst also start a new average file for you too ?

Below is the attached oil report, please let me know what ya'll think, THANKS.

My last sample showed the Boron at 43. 45 being the average.

The copper averages were also adjusted. It came in at 31. 32 being the (new?) average.

Next month I send in another sample.

Have they advised you to run longer on the oil? What oil are you using?

They told me I could run longer - to 5K. The sample I sent was done at 4300 miles. I am at that pont now. After the PTM, I'll change the oil and send another sample.

Charlie sorry I was asking gonzo50 what oil he was using and if Blackstone told him to go longer and if so why did not follow their advise?

Yeah, I'm also curious as to what oil this is.

FYI, I'll be getting UOAs on my Marauder, too, but I don't rack up the miles fast enough to be able to tell you right now how long that'll take.

gonzo:

This motor IS a "copper generator", so no worries there.

Boron is part of the additive pack in many oils and is used as a detergent, so again no worries.

Exactly.

I bet it's Redline oil. (Just a WAG.)

Todd, if he's using RL and changing it at 2500-mile intervals, that's a huge waste...

No doubt. ^^^

All the information is in the report, attached, MotorCraft 5w20.
I try to change my oil every 2,500 - 3,000 mi intervals, it's cheap insurance.
