John Eagle Lincoln/Mercury will officially close it's doors on Dec. 15th:help: The last meeting of the LSCC at John Eagle will be held on Thursday, Dec 14th--everyone that can possibly make it should be there---they have been a great sponsor and many of us have benefited in many ways. Let's thank them for being there for us. The future meeting place and where we will get our MMs serviced is still up in the air. I'll do my best to keep you informed as things develop--Hope to see you there next Thursday at 6:30 PM, Maury

Tonite, the people who attended listened to Sonny as he told us what will happen tomorrow. At 11 AM the lights will go out and the sign will come down at John Eagle Lincoln Mercury forever:bigcry: . That afternoon, Park Cities Ford will unveil a new name " Park Cities Ford-Lincoln-Mercury" ----the 2nd dealer in the US to be closed and consolidated under the "Fordway Program"---over 200 dealerships will be consolidated this year. Jerod and all our specialist techs will be there to continue our service. Park Cities is a SVT dealership and is aware of our special needs. No special discounts have been announced--more on that later. Sonny is now at Sport City Toyota at LBJ and Northwest Hwy.. He will continue to sponsor the Lone Star Cougar Club (which includes the NTM group) and the January meeting will be held there---time and date to be announced. We all thanked Sonny --we'll sure miss John Eagle Lincoln Mercury and all the great folks there. I'll keep you updated as soon as I get the info, Maury

Pretty sad when you have a big, new dealership with all those employees and can only sell two cars a day. Tells you something about how the new Lincoln/Mercs are (not) selling.

In MA and CT... just in the past few months... Springfield LM, Greenfield LM, and the big LM dealer in Hartford CT have gone... and last year the only one in the Capitol City area of VT... Barre-Montpelier....has converted to some Jap crap...and none of the Ford Dealers seem to have picked up the dual role...Can't find a stock CV anywhere up here... just 05 and 06 program cars with 12000 miles for $15K...no LX sports...not meant to hijack thread...just adding to the downsizing awareness of LM...

I had to have a redo on my front end that was done last Thursday, so I went to Park City. Jerod hasn't reported in yet,so Craig took care of me. Seems like when they installed new front shock struts, one of them didn't seat properly and when it shifted, it threw the front end out. Anyway---Park City ain't John Eagle---very crowded--small waiting room--open desks for service writers--not the same type of customers we are used to--but, the staff is friendly and eager for us to come back. The same tech that did the original alignment corrected the new problem. We are dealing with the same people, but the surroundings are very different and the special equipment has a a waiting line for it's use--no more coming in a 4:30 for a lube and oil change. Hope things work out for all of us. Maury
