Last night my wife goes with her girlfriend to one of those Christmas home shows where they try and sell you all that overpriced crap. So with her out of the house for the evening I'm on my own for dinner. After deciding on what I want to eat I set out to pick up the food. I'm not two minutes from the house traveling down Randall Rd. and I'm slowing down to prepare to stop for the upcoming red light. Now mind you I'm in my brand new 2006 Mountaineer that I bought a couple of months ago. As I'm coming to a stop I get a$$ended by a 17 year old that was talking on her cell phone. Thankfully neither one of us was injured. We get the cars off to the side of the road and I call the police. I look at my Mountaineer and the back up sensors are broken, the cover is scratched, the trailer plug outlet is torn off and the trim piece in the bumper is bent. About ten minutes later the officer shows up we all get out of our cars. The cop looks at the cars and says there isn't much damage do you want to fill out a report that can probrably be buffed out. At that point I got the Jeff Foxworthy look in my face and said "no I just called because it's Christmas time and I wanted to see the pretty red and blue lights lit up on top of your car", I think he got the message. I really wish they would make talking on a cell phone while behind the wheel a wreckless driving offence. The accident rates would surely drop.

That $uck$. Yes I agree, using cell while driving should be banned, so should eating, reading a book or newspaper, putting on makeup, doing your nails, watching TV, etc.....

New law in Atlanta, if you're involved in an accident while talking on a cell phone it's a crime.

i agree that talking on a cell phone is distracting. here in New York that have made it ticketable unless you use a hands free device.

BUT... there is no law against reading a newspaper, shaving, applying makeup, picking your nose, enjoying a five course meal, looking for loose change on the floor, dancing in your seat.

I have see it all. make it a ticket for all or thoes and i'm on board with the cell phone law.

By the way it is just a commentary on American drivers that when buying a car the number of cup holders and vanity mirrors are always advertised in some way. do they even have cup holders in a ferarri

Yes... some Ferraris have cup holders. The 360 I believe does and possibly the 43x. The F40 definately does not though...

Sorry to hear your misfortune... too bad her car wasn't totalled. Next time I have my camera and someone hits me or I'm in a friends car and get hit... I'm taking pics/videos and putting them up on youtube showing the person's face.

On an episode of "Mythbusters" they pretty much proved that talking on the cell while driving is just as, if not more, dangerous as DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED !!!!!!!

Truely, something must be done.

There isn't anything wrong with driving while on the cell phone. It's the idiots putting the conversation first!!!
I'll pay attention to the road first, stay out of passing lane and maintain more than proper stopping distance to the vehicle in front of me, then the conversation.

There are idiots that can't drive without a cell phone to begin with that ruin it for the rest of us more intelligent drivers.:mad2:
