The Hood on my 04 DTR is looking real bad. It has several areas where the clear has popped off and left little craters. I purchased the car new in April 04 so the 3-36 is in effect until April 07. I have only 22K on it right now. If anyone has had success in having a re-paint covered after 1 yr 12K I would appreciate your help so I can try to have this covered as I beleive it should be! please PM me with Vin and Mileage at time of Re-Paint

Thanks
In Advance!

WOW! David, that's the first DTR I've known about with paint issues. There are many posts/threads about paint problems with black '03A's, if you do a search. Jim Kelly, Bigdogjim, is the champion when it comes to wringing out the very last drop of dealer service. He'll help you, as will the other guys. Just remember, be courteous, keep records, go into the negotiations, armed with abundant data, and most of all, check out the dealerships before you start the project, to learn which will be helpful, and which will stonewall. This can be not so bad, or the project from hell.

You should be able to get it covered. I receieved a re-paint with my warranty lapsing while it was in getting painted. It couldn't of been closer....

David try talking to the service manager at the dealership. I had a log of visits, who I spoke with, date, time, outcome. I got the complete repaint after 14 months of going through channels. I finally got the Ford Dealer to help as my selling L&M Dealer was very little help. I have a black '03 build in Aug.02 right when the paint robots were mis-programed and that what caused my problems. Ford paid $8,200. for the repaint to the Dealer:) Your hood should be an easy fix. Go talk to the Service Manager.
Pm me with any questions:)
