I am looking at purchasing a Winter Beater.

The car is a '93, and is rear wheel drive. It has a LSD Rearend.

How will this do on snow and ice?

It'll be fine so long as you're a good driver.

Ok....

Does a LSD let a 1 wheel peel occur?

To not let such things happen is exactly the function of an LSD. Or at least one of the functions.

If I were guying a beater car for use in a snow and ice climate, (my assumtion of your term "Winter Beater") I would be getting someting FWD or AWD, not anything RWD, limited slip or not.

I hope you have chains.

RWD with posi is awsome in the winter, as long as you know how to drive. I love it, that's the only fun winter brings is sliding around a bit. Some people call DRIFTING a sport, it's just called winter drive here!!!!!!!!
