The highest generic chassis code I found via google was:
C0896 - Electronic Suspension Control (ESC) voltage is outside the normal range of 9 to 15.5 volts
Maybe something in you're air suspension still giving you problems? Ride height sensor? Someone around here should have the big red book to say for sure.
MJ,
In the informational data I have, code C1001 is not there for an '03 or '04 MM. Are you sure that's the code? What device was used to pull that code? Is it possible that an aftermarket scantool was pulling the wrong code? MM's are a rare breed. Maybe the company didn't do enough research and just clumped the MM in with the other Panthers. I looked in PCM, ABS/TCS, Variable Assist Power Steering and Rear Air Suspension on both years. No code C1001. Even the Ford DTC chart had no C1001 listed. Sorry I tried!

Sorry Jack. I logged onto Ford and spent 45 minutes manually checking the DTC for every module in the car, and there is no C1001. So don't really know what to tell you.

I've seen that code on my cougar.. and it doesn't mean jack... no idea why it comes up... mine usually comes up when the EGR code comes on

I was "experimenting" with the EGR and VERY shortly into the "experiment" the CEL came on and I read the codes with my ScanGauge......3 codes, 2 of which were EGR related as expected and the C1001??
Sal....I hope you didn't waste 45 minutes searching for it!!?? Not that important and probably triggered by the EGR??:shake:
