Had to make another mod to the oil pan and windage tray:

Made it black:

It's necessary for the CVPI oil filter adapter to fit:

Hey Joe! Notice I painted the side bolts and freeze plugs.

Another view of the CVPI adapter along with the oil pressure sending unit and remote oil filter adapter:

Not gonna fight with the dipstick tube again, got this idea from Cyclone03:

Driver's side header test fit:

Plenty of oil pan clearance:

I hope the kicked out sump isn't in the way too much when I try to get my arms up in there for the re-install.

Passenger's side test fit:

Plenty of clearance here:

That's all for today. Too bad I'm working on it in a warehouse type structure without electricity. Gotta quit when it gets dark.

A beautiful engine and should be very strong. You're doing a great job. Good Luck.

Brian, you need to get 1 3/4" Headers made with 3" collectors before you install that beast.
Otherwise, looks awesome!

I've been told by more than one person that the exhaust is going to be the restriction and power limiter. If I do decide to upgrade, I'll go with true full-length headers, probably from stainlessworks. I may just get some custom made headers so they will be both long tube AND equal length. I wonder if Ed (from Headers by Ed) would make me a set?

What's your planned power level? I made 805/830 rw in my Lightning with 1 5/8" primaries. That's not to say that I wouldn't have gained from larger, but it won't hurt you as much as you may think.

That's good to hear, one reason I've been holding out on changing headers. If I don't need bigger ones I'd rather not change because of the loss of low end torque and loss of working room in the engine compartment. Plus there's nothing wrong with these so I'd rather not spend the $ on them.

I should be somewhere in the 700's with the current setup. Later on I'll up the boost with a pulley change, then the next upgrade will be a KB 2.8H twin screw.
