It's been tossed around in another thread:
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1763&highlight=BILLET+PARTS
That thread...well...it died. So here is a new one to flame out on.:P

And of course out of curiosity, and seeing some at the Summit Racing car show and extravaganza......

I couldn't resist. :coolman:

Do these clamp over the factory pedals?

Where did you get them?

What did they cost?

These came as a 2 pc. kit from Summit racing. Page 207 of their catalog shows some of what they have to offer, but oddly enough, not these.

These were by far the cheapest in price at $19.99 for the set.
= "Xtreme Fx performance pedals Chrome No. 19412"

There is a reason why no one is interested in these....they don't fit. Well, the brake pedal fits no problem. Just pull the rubber (over-cover) off, slide the new one over, and tighten the cross bars down. Easy.

The gas pedal on the other hand....for some reason, Mercury uses a rounded gas pedal instead of a flat one. Therefore NONE of the after market pedals will clamp on correctly. Thus, is the reason I bought the cheaper variety, thinking, if I screw it up, no big deal.

It ended up that I put the new pedal in my vice, and carefully formed it to fit the curved factory pedal. Once I obtained a relatively snug fit, I drilled a hole in the center of the new pedal with my drill press, sat it on the factory pedal, marked the hole location with an awl, and piloted a small hole thru the factory pedal. I used one black screw to attach the two, and then tightened the supplied bracket at the base of the pedal as normal.

I like them, they feel good under bare feet......I'm sorry, that's probably "too much information"

Out of J.C Whitney catalog, I'm earerly awaiting my "barefoot" pedal. Have one in my other car and I still think it's cool!
