Well, this may be a first--for us all--
Ya see, I can't remember my door code to open the doors,etc.. and I have removed all places where it use to be---and I don't have it written down --at least anywhere I can remember---so thats brings me back to the original problem--can't remember---
Is there any way to find out the original code key pad # other than to keep on trying what you can remember it to be--duh!!!

Well, if you're talking about your Marauder, the "master code" should be on a white sticker on the inside of your trunk "hinges." They will be there unless someone has removed them or painted over them - each hinge should have one. The master code will always work, regardless of whether you changed the code to suit your fancy.
Otherwise, sometimes salesmen write them on the back of a business card and put them in with your manuals and such. You can take a look there.
If not, I have other ideas. Try those first.

Have you checked inside the case that your owner's manual came in? My MM came with several of the little stickers with the door code on it. The were on a peel off sheet inside the case where the Mercury Credit/Assistance card was located. Maybe that's worth a look. :dunno:

sounds like you've exhausted all options.Your last resort will be to go to any dealer and they can go into the module with their star tester or p.d.a. and retriev the master code...probably cost you 1 hr.

Take off the driver door panel. The keyless module with master code is in the lower front corner. If you cannot take it off, pay a stereo shop to do it. 15 minutes labor may be a $20 tip away.

If you reset it, then disconnect the battery for a few minutes, reconnect and the code will go to default.(factory setting) Your selling dealer should be able to get it for you:)
Good luck.

Even if you add codes. The default never leaves.
No need to reset.

Tom, you can do this and it's very unlikely that even if the sticker was policed from all visible locations, that it was removed from the brains itself.

Like it's already been stated, check in the case where the owner's manual is, and you'll see a white sticker in one of the pouches with the number on it ( if you haven't already done that). As you probably already know, there's also a place in the owner's manaul for changing the code to any number that you want, but you might need to punch in the original code for that procedure.

Tom - There should be a plastic card ( credit card size) in the owners manual kit with the # on it. I programed mine into my cell phone.
We all get a case of CRS now and then.:D

OP
There is a thread in the archives about getting the code from the module inside the drivers door.
I posted a picture of the module/label in that thread so folks could see what it looked like.

No need to reset.
If he changed the code and forgot it then he can reset to defult. You can change the factory code.

WOW=--First off-Thanks for the input and pointers--I, l like most of you have been busy today, Christmas, and just got back from visiting my daughters and grandchildren.......
I will check out all the pointers you all have mentioned ---but I should have said in the begining--MY MM was wrecked at birth and was totally repainted and all known markers of the code removed-----I had placed the one from the dealer from the handbook inside my wallet--but it came off somewhere----but I will look at your other ideas---
Thanks so very much for your helpful ideas...........and on to a HAPPY New Year..

+1 on the door panel removal. Call your old MV4 roomate for a step by step walkthrough. :D

Well, in no certain order, I wrote down all the responses and went out to the MM to try and find my code----I tried John's ^^^^^^^^first cause it seemed the easiest------and Phoof!!!!!!!1 There it was --the little card John said would be there with my code on it------Thanks for the tip
You know what! I don't think I ever paid much attention cause when ever I opened that manuel --I don't ever recall seeing that card there-WOW--Talke about CRS and no eyesight---I guess we all get both at times----
Just goes to show --even the little things , which can be BIG to some--like this was for me-can get answers from the group here-
Thanks everyone------Now to put it on the phone and other places I was given tips to do so not to forget in the future--maybe change it to a KNOWN NUMBER in my life---that may be the best thing to do---
OH Yeah--that mumber 36366, it open other cars on the block though----and the owners are changing them now---

I guess I'll get honorable mention on that solution, too.
Post the number here in a separate thread in case you forget it again. CRS is a chronic disease.

Doesn't matter what they change it to, the original number stays the same in the system, you can only add your own numbers (codes), you can never change the original number unless you replace the control box.

Completely correct.
The factory code can never be changed or deleted. A personal code can be programmed, however, the factory code will continue to operate the KE features as normal.
This is also documented on page 82-86 (2003) or 67-68 (2004) of your MM owner's manual if you don't believe me.
The only way to permanently change the code is to swap your Driver's Door Module (DDM) with another to utilize it's facotry code.
There should be a white sticker on the inner side of the RH trunk lid arm with the factory 'master' code.
Otherwise, just pull the door panel and read the bold number code off the DDM.
