I can only imagine what kind of bidding war this might spur. I just know that its too rich for my blood, i'll just have to be content watching from the sidelines.

Hmmm. I wonder who the manufacturer is?

If it's the same guy that others have bought from -- beware. Quality is not as good as it would seem. It's a converted Crown Vic with several inconsistencies between model and reality -- see bumper letering as an example, front badge, seats, exhaust, etc.. Which is fine, if you don't mind using your imagination. Just FYI I don't think anyone has seen a true diecast model of a MM yet.
If they had, we'd have had several group buys and probably whoever it was doing them as a vendor on the site.

I have a Blue MM model and a Black MM as well from the E-Bay guy from Christmas 2003. I think my son paid $150 for the set (was listed $100 each). They are OK as a knockoff. However, as duhtroll says, they are really CV that are modified to look like a Marauder. Close but real MM owners will pick up the differences easily (e.g. wheels, exhaust, badges, and bumpers). Just look at the "MARAUDER" on the rear of that ^^^^ one. The font is way out of proportion to the car.
There was a guy here on the MM.Net who was trying to get Action Models and some of the other model car companies interested in doing a Marauder. He didn't have any luck. Probably due to the potential limited sales quantity. That was 2-3 years ago. No dice since.

Johnny Lightning makes a 1996 Impala SS, which was a pretty small run...maybe they'd do a Marauder if enough people asked for it?

As far as the Marauder Die cast... SAVE YOUR MONEY!
I bought one off this guy and its terrible. the wheels stick out way past the wheels wells, the paint has runs, the little details he added to make it look like a Marauder all fell off within a week.

Last year, or the year before that, I asked Autoart if they had any ideas about making the Marauder. Their responce was "we don't build Mercurys."
That sucks because their eye for detail is great. I have a couple AA Crown Vics and they're really nice looking. I might try a couple other model companies that make 1/18 scale cars and see what they would say.
