This kit has a dual bulb syatem and uses the HID as the low beams... and uses a halogen bulb in the same 9007 bulb houseing for High beams... This will allow me to keep my flashing of the high beams to pass ability....
this is the packageing....

This is the wiring instructions.... although unpon review I have found them to be incomplete and not to showe the wire that must be newly run from the battery.

Very nice pics!!!
What was the Kit's price? Where did you get it? Is it a supposed to be a direct replacement for the factory bulbs, or a universal kit?

Price hmm.... I'll have to check the card... Ill look at lunch time and then post it later... It was a pretty good deal though.... Im thinking of buying another...
It is a relatively universal kit... It is designed to replace headlight system in and car with 9007 bulbs... uses stock headlight wiring to enable relay etc...
therefore headlight will work exactly as stock.... and will plug right into the 9007 headlight bulb socket....

Congrats! You won't regret installing them :D. Usually now a days, all the HID kits are plug and play, except for my foglight one that I'm still working on. I had to splice, and cut the stock wires and then use a butt connector to connect both wires. Also, Loco, don't forget, DO NOT TOUCH THE BALLASTS WHILE YOUR LIGHTS ARE ON. I did this when me and my father installed mine, and it put me in the hospital for the night...

Looks good, and I am very interested in this. Again, find us a cost and where to buy?
Also, please detail the install, step by step with plenty of pics.

Looks like a nice kit, but I was curious about Bosch HID. I dabble quite a bit with Mercedes Benz and I use a LOT of Bosch stuff, never seen a Bosch HID, and that certainly looks nothing like the quality of Bosch stuff that I see, so I did some snooping.
Just a heads up. I just got off the phone with the manager of Product Development, Bosch North America.
These are not "Real" Bosch Lights. Bosch does not even show Any kind of lighting on their website for products. She did tell me that there's a company making HID Kits in China and Bootlegging/stealing their name and putting "Made in Germany" All over it.
http://www.boschhid.com/en/index.asp Looks like they're in guangzhou China.
Guangzhou Bosch electronic SUPPORT Co., Ltd, is a multifunctional science & SUPPORT development and trading corporation. It integrates the production, research, development and commodity import/export. In August 2004,BOSCH Electronic SUPPORT Co., Ltd set up a branch in Guangzhou Yongfu Road automobile articles plaza. Our main products, the world advanced HID lamp lighting system are suitable for various automobiles made at home and abroad.....I'm probably going to get the HIDs with the McCollough Ballast in the end.

Heh, you can pretty much tell just by looking at the low-quality printing and artwork on the box that they're cheap knockoffs...

I Bought this kit for $180 to my door step....
Im considering buying another for my company car....
HID brightness is great for traveling.....
Not sure abouot this quality issuse... honeslty In person the bulbs look like they are from China but pretty good quality anyway....
...but I think the ballast are from Germany not China they look nice....
It seems to me to be a great, inexpensive kit, that should only improve visibility generated from headlights....
I can't wait for install and testing...

Rule of thumb for HID's Germany makes the best Ballasts, Korea makes the best bulbs.
I tried installing a kit my freind is selling with German ballasts and Korean bulbs. They dont seem to work in my Marauder. The High beam light stayed lit on the dash and my foglamps didnt work.
My Chevy Avalanche had the set-up and they were ultra bright and never gave me any issues.

HID's aren't hard to intall. You just have to be careful with them. I'd rather put them in myself to have knowledge if they should go bad and troubleshoot them.

The only thing I'm not looking foward too, is replacing a bulb. Last I checked one cost about $60 bucks I believe. It does depend where you look though.
Loco1234
01-02-2007, 07:06 AM
ya the bulbs will be harder than the normal trip to the local parts store but....
they will last much much longer than the stockers... anyway.
I have spoken with a sales rep in canada whom tells me the parent company is bosch and the ballast are made in Germany but the bulbs are made in China...

I agree. Why not make them for our MM. I believe that just about everyone here would get them...:cool4:
I have HIDs in my Crown Vic and they are awesome. But I bought the entire housing assembly, not just the bulbs. Don't the HIDs have to have a different beam cutoff than halogen bulbs? Won't installing just the bulb without the proper cut-off blind oncoming drivers? I see these kids in their ricers with HIDs and they just about blind me.

My mom has the last year Lincoln made the "Aviator" ya ay I suggested it it... can't get enogh of this motor... but anyway... that had an option for HIDs.... I made sure she got it... those are bright... and they are 6K so I match the color since I've seen it in person and know I like it....
The MACH edition Focus also came with HIDS housings... (had integrqal turn signal too) my buddy has one and if he wanted to replace a housing due to accident etc... it would cost him 1200 per housing to replace those HIDs....
WOW... atleast I will never have to worry about that... only have to get replacement bulbs... and internet is great for that shat....

Yes that is true, HID's do have a cut off in the beam pattern. If someone adjusts them correctly to a more downward angle the beam dispersion can be limited to the oncoming drivers but totally eliminated. Sylvania had HID retro kits available for the F-150 and the Silverado that replaced the whole housing but discontinued them. Why, dunno.
While I want the HID's for the Marauder and subscribing to this thread, I fear the beam dispersion to oncoming driver will keep me from getting them.

Glad to see you over here Jon! My HID's are pointed low to the ground and just about touch the top of any car's rear bumper, so I'm not blinding anyone. When my HID fog's go in, I'll have to point them down as well so I'm not blinding on coming cars.

LOL you're nearly as crazy as me... HID turn signals.... LOL
I like it.... LOL
Only problem is turn signals need to flash on and on and HIDs are not good at turning on and off... need to warm up..... thats why high beams are halogen. this way you can retain the flash to pass feature....

LOL
although I have to say even though I haven't installed it yet...
It appears to be a very nice, simple, clean, well laid out kit....
I can't wait till this is the last this thing on my list to due....
I started long block assembly Saturday but came across a few parts that are still needed for final assembly... (such as head do3els...) etc..
so everything was laid out and a game plan plus a list of things yet needed has been created... I will get in the rewired parts this week and hopefully drop in the HID kit within the next month...
I not only have the engine to due but plan to freshin up tanny, relocate battery to trunk, new AN8 fuel line w/ Dual GT pumps, 31 spline true trac rear setup w/ watts link... theres a crapola load of stuff to get dome...
